A Monumental Project! DIY Halloween Gravestone/Tombstone

This is a fun project to build a very realistic and unique gothic monument gravestone from nothing but styrofoam! Using (At least in my case) a bunch of left over materials to create this headstone, it also is accessible to many! This will be at home in any Halloween haunt, stage setting or even year round decor. Building an entire graveyard scene with a bunch of these would be epic! That's a great idea to use up left overs especially now that foam is so outrageously expensive. I kept think you would paint the vines/roots because I thought they were not suppose to be carved from stone but I like it all the same.

I really liked the idea of the vines being part of the tombstone carving, it gave it an ornate look that looks like something from many generations ago. If I finish something in grout I usually don’t paint it as it ends up weathering and flaking. But if you store it away I’m sure it would last for years. This stone in particular spent all winter outside beside my front door, other than being clipped with a snow shovel once it looks as good as the day it was made! Everything has become so expensive and I’m finding less is being thrown away to boot! Makes it hard to build things with a budget in mind! Thanks for watching finding magic!

That acrylic grout is amazing stuff, just have to make sure you don’t get too detailed with your foam work 😀

That's a great way to use up leftover styrofoam, and the final result looks just as amazing! Somehow, The Egyptian Goddess Isis even transformed into a skull!!😂 Do you have Dollar Tree in Canada, or is your dollar store called something else?

That transformation is part of the grand mystery! The secret of the change is hidden in the video. We have dollar tree in Canada and a dollarama too, but I really think they should rename them “The loonie bin” but I don’t think it will stick 😂

I have seen some tutorials using the stuff! Looks amazing, I am slowly working my way into new mediums all the time and that one is completely on my radar! 😀
