I used Moonglow since I didn't have Tundra Violet and was happy with the result. I'll be trying more monocromactic experiments - THANK YOU

I have a tube Schmincke random grey I wanted to experiment with for something a little more than just mountains. Thanks for the inspiration.

Have fun with that tube of Random Grey! I've heard so many wonderful things about it but have never tried it. I know the pigments change in it year to year - what fun! Hoping to pick it up one day too

Yes I love monochromatic watercolour painting. Somehow I found myself doing them a lot. It allows you to fully appreciate the tonality of a specific colour. I'm just finishing the complete sketch book of them, as I went through all my colours (except white and two yellows which are too light).Truly beautiful.❤

I am still amazed by your technique and the rendering 🤩 they are magnificent and I even put them as wallpaper at work!! I had a little question about your block supports to lean your paper: did you make it or buy it? Thank you very much Anastacia for these magical and timeless moments. It's like reading a book ☺️

This is so kind of you! Thank you so much, I really appreciate your words 😊 That support for my paper was part of the packaging for our new washing machine 😁 As soon as I saw it I knew it was absolutely perfect for my watercolour painting. Something like this can be made out of cardboard (just fold it into a triangular prism shape and fix it with tape - I think learnt it from Jean Lurssen).

Hi Anastasia, can you tell me what the vertical element you created with the hake is supposed to be? I like it, but can't figure out if it represents grass, or ?? Been so enjoying your videos. You're a wonderfully talented artist, and your videos are both relaxing, and inspiring! Thank you.
@AnastasiaMily

I love your question! In this style of painting (I would call it a loose representational style with the elements of abstraction), not every brush mark has to be a particular element. Sometimes they simply are just abstract marks that add to the composition or to the mood of the piece, and this is one of the most wonderful and freeing things about being an artist. In photo realism paintings they would not work obviously, but I do not paint in the photo realism style. I think every viewer sees something different in a painting. To me, these vertical marks might be a reflection of the distant hills. But their main job was to balance the lots of horizontal marks and elements, including the sharp horizon line. Thank you for watching my videos - so glad to you are enjoying them 😊
