I've been following your channel for quite a long time now. I found you by your video on leasing, and then I saw your budgeting video for the breakdown of costs for a new/first horse. I subscribed around the time when you first got Woody! I'm sure he would approve of this new partnership you will have with Harley.

Congratulations!! This made me so happy to watch and see you feeling joy again. Woody is definitely there with you.💛 After my own traumatic loss of my first horse, I acquired another down the life. It was funny but there were moments where this new horse did things that were very characteristic of my past horse. I ended up speaking to an animal communicator and without any insight, she told me that my first horse had come back in this new horse's body. A bit woo woo and strange but it brings me comfort to know he is still with me. Anywho! I cannot wait to follow this new journey. Harley is absolutely stunning!!

OMG I’m crying with happiness for you. He’s beautiful- I tried a horse that could have been his twin - a lovely chestnut ID but he unfortunately failed his vetting - Yes, grief is a funny thing. I had to buy a whole new grooming kit because I can’t bare the thought of using my old grooming kit (I also still haven’t been able to clean it) and some of her old feed bowls ended up in the skip bucket pile and I can’t bring myself to use them for poo and picking out feet. But he wears her white saddle pad for competing, uses her water bucket and a couple of her rugs fit him. (They are fairly different builds so most other stuff didn’t fit) I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to follow your adventures

Hey Rhi - I felt this really deeply. I know that the loss of Woody was traumatic for you. My previous failed loan was also extremely traumatic for me, and I actually purchased my new horse a couple of weeks ago. The viewing, bringing her home etc. felt very traumatic for me even though I was so thrilled and excited to bring her home. She's been home 3 weeks now and she was absolutely the correct purchase and I completely adore her and that trauma feels easier to handle now. And so I just really felt this video deeply. Harley is incredible and such a cutie! Good luck with your future endeavours together.

So delighted for you. I totally understand the grief side of it having lost a pony before. I continued to pay for his stable for a couple months as I couldn’t bare the thought of another horse moving in! And its taken me until now to feel ok about selling his rugs (he passed away in 2018) I hope you have the best time getting to know each other, these early days are so exciting!

So happy for you Rhi. What a beautiful horse you have. I got very emotional when the Robins showed up. I have also had experience with robins, after my mum passed, when I recently lost my dog of 17 years, and when I moved my horse to a new yard a robin arrived in my new stable as if to say welcome and I had made the right choice. I wish you many happy years with Harley.

I mentioned earlier about my woody. I now have a new horse completely different type. I still have days when I say I better get woody in. You get very used to routines. And forget that he is gone. Very strange to start with but enjoying my new Bryn. 6 yrs old . So congrats on your new horse and new journey together.

I love the Robin's. When I lost my dad, we had a wake and was just about to finish up and a Robin had flown into the pub and all the way into the back room where we were. It was absolutely my dad coming to say goodbye ❤❤

❤❤❤I’m sure I’m not the only person who is just so over the moon happy for you. I mourned Woody like I knew him, and had been so delighted❤❤❤ that you shared him with us. The halter my first horse wore hangs in my barn beside my current horse’s halter. Such wonderful memories. It’s 50 years old. No other horse has or will ever wear it. I think that’s a well-earned tribute. They stay with us. I really believe they do.

I don't know much about Irish Draft horses but I do know about saddle fitting, so take this with a grain of salt, but you might want to get him saddle fitted/test if your saddle is in the right place it seems to far up on the withers which it should be behind. You can see in the video he seems a bit heavy in the front, having the saddle in the wrong place can also affect your position and balance aswell as his. Besides that he is a wonderful horse congrats on assessing your goals!
