A New Coaster in Dollywood? Big Bear Mountain Opens in 2023!

Dollywood is soon to open a brand new coaster called Big Bear Mountain! In this video, we detail the story of how this new coaster in Dollywood came about, and what you can expect from it when it opens. Big Bear Mountain coaster will be a Vekoma coaster in the Wildwood Grove section of Dollywood. It will be a launch coaster, but aimed at families so may not be as intense as other launch coasters found around the world. It follows the story of a search for Big Bear in the Smoky Mountains with ranger Ned Oakley. Big Bear Mountain certainly bolsters Dollywood as a theme park, and we personally can't wait to visit soon!

This thing is so long! I do wish it had more theming around it, but at least a bit of that should be self correcting as the vegetation grows back. Maybe there'll be growling bear sound cues as you go through too, that'd be neat. By the way , I'm glad you guys cover other parks besides the big D and U. Everyone talks about Nintendo this or Disney that, but I really appreciate seeing what the rest of the industry is doing. Dollywood is such a gem of a park, too!
