I wear this Lorier all the time. It’s amazing on a nato strap. The dial is a little hard to match color wise and I didn’t get a good fit on the bracelet but it’s definitely best on a nato. Also, mine is running just as well as my Pelagos 39 which is just insane!

I love the vintage vibe that Lorier watches have!! I think this is a great time to be a watch enthusiast. The selections are very plentiful and the competition is really good and these micro brands are really bringing the competition to the major watch brands. I see new micro brands pop up almost every day. Thanks for the great content and for consistently delivering professional, quality content that educates and keeps us engaged.

The Miyota 9075 has opened the doors to these microbrands and I have enjoyed seeing what they come out with. I ended up purchasing a Jack Mason Stratotimer and it's fantastic. While I'd love to get a GMT Master II Batgirl, this thing has cured me of my flyer GMT desire. I've now focused building my budget towards a different desire (moonwatch).

I have the 9075 in a Vaer G5 and love it. It has a nicer looking case than the Lorier and the value it offers a sapphire double-domed crystal and AR coating. Yes it is a bit more costly, but not much... It's also assembled in America!

Lorier knocked it out of the park with the Hydra Slll. Got to see it at its debut at the Chicago Wind Up Watch Fair. Also snagged one on the first batch (currently sold out). The two different lume colors to differentiate between local and gmt time is such a nice touch.

I bought 3 lorier neptunes as pass down watches for my daughters. All 3 engraved with "Daddy loves you" on the back. I wore each one for a few months to get it lived in so they're present in family photos and not flawless. I wanted them to remember their dad wearing that watch. For myself now, I bought a hydra for my every day watch. Love the brand.

"True GMT" aka flyer GMT vs the caller GMT. True indicates that the other is wrong. They're just different methods of a GMT movement. That being said, I have this Lorier, and it is phenomenal. A real bargain at that price point IMO.

@@nikkimiddlekillsday5161You can’t always do that. Pressure fit acrylic doesn’t use a seal. It’s compressed and so there’s no 1-1. It works for Seiko, doesn’t work for Omega, for instance. Not sure how Lorier are made.

Lorier is for vintage watch lovers.. they are bringing vintage style watches to the present so it doesnt make sense for them to use sapphire. Its in their belief and enthusiasm, thus, dont think they will ever compromise. The watches are affordable relatively to rolex or omega, and are already of good value.

I love being educated by what's happening in this field. Unfortunately like in all industries price trickles slowly downward with new tech. I'll continue to lust after GMT even though I don't travel. I like to know day & date, atomic time is cool, I appreciate Sapphire, not excited by titanium, bracelets can make a big difference. I'm not big league, but I can still look. I shouldn't feel jealous or sub human though.

So happy to see you reviewing this watch Teddy! Lauren and Lorenzo are so very nice and talented (and fellow NYCers) - I just love what they are doing. This Hydra is my fourth Lorier and it is just fabulous. While I love Sapphire on many of my watches, my 1962 gold vintage Omega Sea Master has acrylic as do three of my four Loriers (yes, their "dress watch" - the Zephyr is Sapphire). I've come to love acrylic in some cases. In the case of the Hydra, it is special - the distortion on the large dome is pure fun. I'm usually all about dial legibility but in this case, I'll trade that extra half-second to read the GMT time (really only at the bottom of the scale) to admire the distortion and experience some old school joy. 100% correct RE the 9075!

I tend to have three problems with microbrands. First, many of them target the 38mm range, which makes sense from a business perspective but is a bit too small for my giant wrists. Second, the good ones are often sold out. Third, they're not usually at dealerships, especially not near me, so I can't make sure I like them in person before I buy them.

@@raunaqsapra7160I have the latest iteration with the 5 link bracelet. I definitely recommend the watch. I enjoy it very much. Specific to the bracelet, it looks great and wears comfortably. That said, in hand, it feels a bit unrefined. Not cheap like a $300 Seiko for example, but just a bit sharp on edges and clasp and articulation is a bit rough. Again, that’s just in hand. On wrist it’s comfortable for me.

This watch looks great! Between the Miyota and the seiko nh34, we’ve got the gmts covered! I have a traska venturer and a nodus sector gmt, both of which punch way above their pricetag, and for about $1200, I have the caller and flyer gmt covered very nicely. Let’s retire the ‘true’ gmt label, it’s silly, as they both are gmts and the caller/office is more practical the 99% of the time we aren’t traveling

I have the Traska you briefly mentioned (white dial) and I adore it. (That hardening on the steel case and bracelet works great btw, though i recently swapped out for a steel mesh to deal with Miami humidity and it looks the business on it.) Although as soon as a 9075 watch comes out with the outer rotating 24 hour bezel and an inner 24 hour scale so I can have 3 time zones displayed, I'm jumping onboard immediately. I like the idea of having UTC for server logs always visible without having to spin it back and forth when I'm traveling or tracking another time zone. So far no one seems to have done it. 😢

@@kelvinlau1229 Yeah a lot of the Seiko/GS seem to have that functionality, but much higher prices. I have a Springdrive GMT as a semi grail watch for me. But since I often travel to locations where I'd really rather a watch that isn't too expensive on me, it's hard to justify pulling the trigger on it. My ideal scenario is a 9075 comes out with that functionality and then I can get a snowflake for my Springdrive craving

Skin diver-ish. Do like. Most people don't explain that the "warmth" of an acrylic dial is due to them *not needing* an AR coating! Straight-on, it's like looking at the dial with no crystal. And for enthusiasts who swap what they wear, scratches should be a rare concern. Get a Timex Q or Marlin if you want to test the look first. I feel like the 9075 would not exist without the NH-34 paving the way, but wish the Japanese would not innovate at a snail's pace. And it appears the modest price difference will be worth it in many cases.

Serious divers travel quite frequently, and it’s always a tough choice between multiple watches with one or the other complication when ideally we want both. I’ve already got enough gear to deal with lugging around and putting on/taking off over 3-4 dives per day, so having just one watch that you can keep on for the entire trip is a very welcome offering! Unfortunately though the Hydra is too thick and the dive bezel a little too thin. I hope that Tudor eventually release a Pelagos GMT, until then I have my eyes set on an older Seamaster reference with a GMT hand from the mid 2000’s.

Wow, this is beaut!! Gorgeous and functional. Love the dial, hands, case and bracelet. On another note though, I kind of don't get the big deal made of "True GMT" vs "caller GMT" movements. I travel a fair bit, and I have to say, I've never really found myself on a long flight, after hours of waiting in some airport, without 1 extra minute to set my watch. Just saying.
