My personal fix for Colossus would be to make him a priority target. Enemy Gambits, The Great Web location, your own Ironheart; all automatically target Colossus first.

Awesome idea but I think this could be an ability for a new card even where maybe it makes a location a priority. Place your novas and wolverines in said lane so gambit hits them

Some ideas for Adam Warlock. 1: On reveal: Add a soul stone to your deck. Ongoing: if the soul stone is in play +X power. X being based on whatever cost he ends up at. 2: Make him a 4 or 5 cost with good power. On reveal: add Magus to your opponent's deck. Magus would do something negative to you. 3: On reveal: change this location to soul world. 4: Lean into his resurrection cocoon ability. Something like when this is destroyed returns at the end of the game to win the game if able. These would be lore accurate and truly interesting.

if they wanna skip a total redesign just make him a 1/2 or 1/1 so you can get his effect turn one, and incentivize opponent to either destroy him, or play on that location (allowing you to get power elsewhere)

I like the first idea a lot, I think he’d be really good as a 1/1 that gains power based on how much the soul stone is draining since the soul stone gives -1 to be the opponent cards at the location.

Some buff ideas: 1. Why isn't Sabertooth like Wolverine and X23? Add the "destroyed or discard" to Sabertooth. 2. We don't have a card that generate 3-cost card. Make Nick Fury do that. Captain, Widow, Thor are all 3 cost. He would fit in pretty nicely. 3. Raise the ceiling of all GOTG character even more (1/5 Rocket, 2/6 StarLord, 3/8 Groot, 4/10 Drax, Gamora is good since she can hit 5/12). Having to predict the opponent is a caveat for most player.

Unfortunately, they almost all have no synergy. Mister Fantastic is An early game boost, Thing is a Vanilla (Not including High Evo power reduce) Human Torch is a crazy move ramp card, and Invisible woman is a combo enabler. They don't work well.

What about: You can move Star Lord each turn. If moved to a location the opponent played to this turn, +2 power. That could play on to the idea of his jet boots and still keep the theme of gaining points at locations that the opponent played at.

I really hope this Power Couples event is a sign of things to come, maybe with the Avengers like you talked but I would love to see some X-Men deck synergies! When I first got into Snap that surprised me the most probably, how so few of them made sense in a deck together. Even if they couldn't get all of them working well together since there's so many of them, they could break it into groups like OG Xmen with Cyclops/Iceman/Beast/Jean and than a kinda new school X-Men with Armor/Hazmat/Negasonic. Even a Brotherhood of Mutants deck could be possible with Mystique, Magneto, Sabertooth, Blob, Quicksilver and a ton of possibilities with future cards.

I think a cool flavor text that could be added to Colossus is 2/3 Ongoing: this can’t be destroyed. Every time Colossus survives being destroyed +1 power.

Quicksilver should be a move card. Like moves scaler (thinking mobius and collector type) can move each turn and if it moves to a location you are losing plus 1 power. Would be super cool.

I've been using warlock in my sentry deck with ravona and goblins. Ideally, turn one is hood, 2 is ravona and reduce his cost play him with demon or with goblins to better your chance at drawing Annihilus before 5 and 6. Also, before the Annihilus patch, you could send him over when you were done drawing with him clogging up the opponents board.

I’ve been running a discard/destroy deck and it’s been working surprisingly well. Basically you’re usual reliable discard but with Daken, carnage, venom, Wolverine, and x23. It works really nicely using blade or Colleen to discard x23, Wolverine, or your muramasa shard and then if you need to free up space or something you can eat with venom. And then Nico is perfect to blend the decks together. Either get the destroy draw or copy a strong venom or Daken. Been a lot of fun.

I played 10 years ago a FB game called Marvel Avengers Alliance, was very popular and the powers for each character was spot one. I will love if Second Dinner will get inspired from that game.

45:45 Quicksilver is awesome in Lockjaw decks because he helps regulate your hand/deck ratio. If you don’t play him on 1, he protects your other cards from Spider-Ham and you can throw him into LJ for guaranteed value. Plus, he has hidden text that says “On Reveal: 30% of the time, your opponent snaps. They will not retreat.” Quicksilver is wildly underrated.

Captain America Rework Idea: The first time one of your cards is targeted by an enemy affect, block it. This could be a one time block for things like Gambit, Rogue, Spiderman, etc. I picture the animation being the shield flying over to protect the card.

I think Cozy makes a good point about Corvus. I think we just don’t know how good Corvus is yet, because we haven’t played this style of discard yet. It’s going to be much more of a learning curve than most cards released

To throw my hat into the ring for Corvus, I've been noticing recently that a lot of utility/tech discard cards are 3-cost. I'm talking about Gambit, Moon Knight, and soon to be Corvus. Couple that with premium stats in a lot of 3-costs like Sword Master, Gladiator and even Strong Guy, I've been trying to figure out an "Empty Hand" Silver Surfer deck. Granted, it's still not going to be the most reliable, but being able to potentially dump crazy, last turn stats could be insane. If I'm being honest, it seems like new cards and even some card balance decisions is pulling away from reliability in decks unless it involves the major Series 5 cards.

I really want character specific synergies in snap. I want colossus to be what he is, but also, if played on wolverines location, he destroys him. This would simulate the fastball special those two do in the comics. Or if phoenix forces merges with Jean they get like 20 power. Things that aren't the most optimal, but make mini packages that can fit in different decks

Alex's comment gave me an interesting idea for quicksilver. If he is their answer to mulligan, then make him a mulligan. Add the effect that if you play him on turn 1, you shuffle your hand back into the deck and redraw for each card returned to the deck. I think it would still be pretty niche but could actually be useful. And if that is too strong (in most cases it would only be 2 cards) it could just swap one random card in your hand with one in your deck.

Corvus ramp is being able to play blade and hela on last turn provided you get the nut and stomping one of the 6 cost on 5 there for thining the hand and able to target the final hand! We all have had the frustration of not being able to play blade because he'll take out a key piece and how many hands are all 6 at the start

My plan for a Corvus deck: Sunspot She Hulk Infinaut style ghost rider deck. If you discard ghost rider / hela, then you still have enough energy to skip turn 5 and blow up turn 6. Having a couple of extra ramp backups would be nice like magneto ect

For Captain Marvel, add the text "When this card moves, +3 Power" in ADDITION to her current ability. 4/4 without moving, 4/7 if she moves to a lane to win, 4/10 if used in a move deck with one move.

To answer Alex at 24:30 It’s a really niche deck, because it’s a destroy discard hybrid deck utilizing # (1) X-23 # (1) Yondu # (2) Wolverine # (3) Gambit # (3) Killmonger # (3) Venom # (3) Daken # (4) Shang-Chi # (4) Silver Samurai # (6) Knull # (6) Hela # (8) Death I think Corvus could replace silver samurai and just be an amazing deck, hela is the back up but you can ramp up to knull as well! I haven’t hit infinite with this deck to be fair, but I feel like I’m on the cusp of something?

I think these buffs would solve it: Adam Warlock, 2/2 After each turn, draw a card if your cards revealed first this turn. Star-Lord, 2/3 Change: +2 -> +3 Nick Fury, 4/5 On Reveal: Fill your hand with random cards from your starting deck. (btw I don't think the Avengers idea works since Snap doesn't have tribes, so that'd break the rule and it would be weird to break it like that.) Captain Marvel, 4/5 Captain America, 2/2 Quicksilver, 1/1 The first time you draw this, shuffle this back into your deck and draw another card. White Queen I actually wrote about this exact issue about White Queen in the Snap discord channel, comparing her to Loki and Mirage. I suggested her giving a -1 Cost to the added card at least, but I think this is what makes her good: 4/6 On Reveal: Steal the highest-Cost card in your opponent's hand or deck.

A possible buff for the guardians could be adding the Milano (I think that’s what their ship is called) that gets a power boost for each guardian on the field

In Marvels Ultimate Alliance, you would get bonuses for having characters that teamed up and could get some pretty good buff combos. They could definitely do something with the different teams like the Avengers, Midnight Sons, GoTG, Sinister Six, Xmen, etc. Maybe they are testing the waters now and also waiting to get more cards for some of the other factions, though with say the black order they don't really synergize.

The Valentine's event is incredibly interesting, and Alex kind of mentioned this with stats across the board, but Second Dinner has even mentioned cards potentially having team tags. Avengers, X Men, Guardians. I absolutely think they should do what they've done with the Valentines event but with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Like Gamora: Guardians +2, something like that

I actually liked the Power of Love event. I just threw a deck full of couples in and had some pretty good results. It was quite a lot of fun and not many folk were playing it so got some really good wins out of it. Wish some of the couples kept their synergy as a permanent fixture

I think a good buff for Captain America would be to change his text to "Your cards here have +1". That way, he includes himself so it's a +1 power buff, making him a potential 3/7.

The best thing i see for Corvis is the turn 6, 7 energy. It will allow you to drop a sif and a Dracula or a Modok and a Swarm leaving just your Apoc. I do feel like he’s a card to get better when there is more to do

I’m not convinced Corvus is good but damn, is Cozy trying his hardest to convince me. Reliable Discard was the first post pool 2 deck I built. I love the deck so much and its consistency gave me the room to develop my snapping skill. I was incredibly sad to see it vanish how it did, I had thousands of boaters for all the cards and they have just been collecting dust. Promixa seems cracked so I know I’ll spend keys on her. But I don’t know if I will spend tokens on Corvus.

An idea for quick silver might be like on reveal he makes the turn time shorter for the enemy for one turn or something, or longer for me.

i reckon i good cap fix is to slightly change his ability to: "when you play a card here give it +1 power" it's almost the same except now he has bounce synergy (which is cool cause he's known for his iconic shield bounce) and also has great falcon synergy (which is even cooler cause they're partners in the comics/movies)

I mean tbf discard is in a great spot with black knight. The only disappointing card they've had is miek but every other discard card has been amazing (modok,daken, black knight)

A really dumb thing I do in one of my ronin junk decks: I use Selene + Adam Warlock, then Viper (or Annihilus on 5) to throw it over. Especially with Annihilus, throwing Adam Warlock over in a lane theyre winning gives them that extra draw feeding into your Ronin.

As someone who plays “dependable” discard not a fan of Corvus Glaive. Random discard is actually really dangerous, you certain cards and you have a way of discarding your hand anyways with Modok so it doesn’t matter that you discarded two now or your entire hand later. Proxima is much more appealing

Second Dinner previously eluded to the fact that there is a White Queen card, but there might be something in the works for an Emma Frost card. It would be cool to see the non-super hero characters giving a lord effects (Steve Rogers summons the Avengers, Charles Xavier buffs Mutants, Johnny Blaze refills your hand with Midnight Son cards, etc.)

Mailbag question: Y'all are awesome and I absolutely love the content! I was thinking about it during the "Needs a Buff" segment; what do you y'all think of giving the "necessary beginner card" (think Quicksilver, Captain America, etc.) abilities to "generic" cards like Shield Agent, Hydra Agent, Police Officer (cards that don't have their own personal flavors to be criticized for not matching) and then giving those "hero cards" an ability they actually deserve? I think it would be a great way to keep the integrity of the early collection level of Snap while preserving the iconic factor of some of the heroes that we all know and love

Mailbag: I know you’ve talked about this before, but what are some cards that you think need a buff the most? I’ve been trying to run a guardians of the galaxy deck with Jean Grey but it just seems the shear amount of power you are putting up isn’t enough. (Drax being a max of 4-8 vs Cull Obsidian 4-10 feels super weak) For such popular characters, the guardians feel super weak.

It’s funny cuz in the comics, Corvus glaive us the strongest if the black order and the leader, supergiant is a main member despite not being in the movie, and black swan is technically not a member of the group at all.

Hulk bump: keep it at 6/12 and add a +6 if losing at this side. Hulk gets stronger when he's angrier, so playing him on a losing side would reflect this.

One thing I'd pitch in for corvus is that I feel he might be best played on turn 5. A problem i've run into with discard is that I get dracula out turn 4, turn 5 I play a 3 cost like sif or daken and a 2 cost like morbius or colleen, and then turn 6 when i go to play modok, i top deck swarm which turns apoc getting guaranteed discarded into a 1/3. With the extra 1 max energy from corvus, I could play swarm alongside modok turn 6 for more consistent dracula play.

Not sure why youd be worried about losing Doom or Odin when you have Hela to bring them back. This card would be perfect if you have x-23, swarm, Infinaut or any 6 cost card. It also says +1 Max Energy, which means early turn 5 and 6, plus an extra turn 6. This card is going to be OP.

Captain America (6/3): On Reveal: Give all friendly cards +1 power. Somewhat of an on reveal blue marvel, improving the whole team. Higher cost since he’s easier to retrigger at 5 cost. Thoughts?

I had an idea that Guardians could just be plus x power for every turn you play a card at the same location as your enemy. That way it’s stacking. Or maybe just Star Lord would have that stacking ability.

18:09 If you happen to beef up Apocalypse but you don't have Dracula out, you can play him on 5 and possibly Ebony Blade plus Ghost Rider or Hela or Mobius + Dracula or Miek + Mobius + Ghost Rider. That extra energy is going to be banger for if you don't get your cards in the order you want them. You just play differently then with that energy to curve it out.

I have been looking forward to Corvus Glaive since he was announced. I have a Loki Discard homebrew that he'll fit perfectly in. The recent Helicarrier change might hurt though, losing a draw is a big deal

Board games, family game night can be a wonderful family experience. We supervise our teen girls in the game. They are permitted one hour of video game play and we watch over them. Both my girls play Snap free and responsibly as parents can teach. Both of you do a nice job in not just playing a game, but teaching, not just what to do, but what not to do. Nick fury should add 3 Avengers cards to your hand, it's on theme and at least you would have a chance of being able to curve out. My other thought is, giving Nick the "loki discount" off the 6 drops would also make him way more appealing. Captain America as a 5/7 that gives +2 would make him great, basically the same as Devil Dino in power. Its also thematic for Cap to cost the same as Iron Man for lore reasons.

If it's been said by you guys or other people already then my bad, but I think a neat direction to try taking captain america is to make him a 3 cost 2 power with an ongoing that gives +2 power to all friendly characters at that location. This means if even 2 cards are at that location he has the same power impact that he is now if there are 3 cards, and if you completely fill the location he is putting an extra +2 power. It's a small subtle buff but an impactful one in certain decks

I am learning toward Alex's take. I think the random discard is always risky. I never play Hell Cow or Sword Master because of the random drops. I think Cozy is focusing more on the upside. will be interesting to see how this evolves.

How about, Adam Warlock, 3cost 6power: After each turn, draw a card if you're losing the location. At least you have some power to put on the field, and if you still lose the location, you get extra draw. Opponents need to lose the lane if they dont want us to get extra draw. Does that make sense?😅

I think the power Couple thing was cool in concept but agree with everything Cozy said. An idea could be to do something like this each season where it lasts the whole season temporarily and then goes away when the next season begins. Help keep things fresh each season. With things to explore without card acquisition or permanent card changes.

Adam Warlock should get +2 power every time he wins a location and draws a card. This means the opponent needs to dedicate resources to stop his increase and drawing. Star lord could move (along with his power increase) to another location if a card is played. I’m thinking about the scene he flips the bird to Thanos and portals away. Captain America could take the hit for another card if it is to be destroyed. If they ever make ‘the spot’ card I would love if he could just randomly appear on different locations on either side of the board. Night nurse or another doctor/healer character could restore power and text to a afflicted card. Punisher deserves better! I think he should get +(x) power of the strongest card on the opponents area.

Either one of two ideas - 1) Adam Warlock: (2/2) Each turn your opponent doesn't play a card here, Draw a card. (except the turn you play this) or... 2) Adam Warlock: (2/3) After each turn, draw a card if you're winning here. At the start of turn 4, -3 power. 1) Nebula-control style, forcing your opponent to work against your card draw. 2) all but guaranteed draw on turn 2 and likely on 3; but after, you have to work to maintain the lead there.

I think they could “protect the early game experience” and make cards like Captain America or quick silver good at late game by giving him an unlockable ability like High Evo does. If Nick Fury changed to give avengers different abilities or stats it could work. (More than likely they will not change Nick this way but rather introduce a new card to monetize it)
