A New Home! | Railroads Online! - S3 E1

The Lake Valley Association of Industries Inc has saw fit to sign the Accidental Death & Dismemberment Railroad to build the rail infrastructure and transport the goods their industries produce. We have found a new home in Lake Valley!
We start by showing the different maps, the new dev map and our custom map! Then we build from the buy track to the Sawmill before going up the long and difficult route to the logging camp. We finish it up by bringing a large train load of logs to the Sawmill. Should make the Sawmill happy, finally able to put the saws to use! Meanwhile, the Iron mine needs lumber and beams, but has no track!
RULES!:
- Be as realistic as possible given the limitations of the game
- No intentional derailing or causing chaos
- No cheating
- Be unique! No copying others.
- Have fun!

What is RailRoads Online!?
It is an open world sandbox that allows you to play multiplayer, or single player, to build and operate a narrow gauge rail road in the mountains about the 1880's era. This game is still in development and bugs are present. However, the development team is working diligently to correct the bugs and add new features. Earn money by shipping and selling freight, build new track to new locations, and invest in new rolling stock and locomotives. Build buildings and bridges, control steam locomotives and configure trains!

So that "sky" bridge you hate is actually only like 200ish feet off the ground. The tallest bridge on East Coast was built in Kentucky in 1877, the 275 foot tall bridge was the tallest bridge in North America

Inclined viaducts, "sky bridges" were a real thing. Look up old footage of the coaling yards where they put coal in ships in the early 1900's. I was amazed when I saw it. The new map is cool. I will do 3.5 grades on mine. Just need smaller trains or more engines to pull. Like they did in the days of short line narrow gage. It was the "age of industry". They took the tracks where they needed to get the job done. Sadly, most of it is gone now.

I'm just happy to see that people are enjoying this game enough to make content out of it. Definitely a beautiful new map, yeah the music is kind of bogus, but it's still really good. Wish I had more friends who played. I think having a group of people running trains all over the place. That's the dream.

I see some people don't like the music in the beginning. I understand why, but I understand why Evil One also made it that way. It was the EPIC return! The premier was great and many people were excited in the chat about the return. I think that Evil One (and friends?) had to put a lot of work into making the trains exactly the same for the new map, and to have folk music for the triumphant return simply wouldn't do. Evil One needed something different, something new, something EPIC to go along with the start of the new season, and I for one, love it! Good Job Evil One!!

i do find the new map interesting, the northern hills really make it a challenge to lay a line up to those industries. one either has to have a high percent incline or tall bridges to support the climb in order to get up there. first impression of the lumber camp track, i would personally adjust it so a train can be loading up on cord wood and not stop a train with lumber from moving on and vice versa, as both are just on a single big loop. will say i do think your lay out of the industries a lot more realistic, like why would you just put a random smeltery that needs 2 different products brought to it on top of a giant hill when it could be done anywhere else.
