I agree that’s ridiculous it’s always on. They should give you the option to have it turn off when you turn off the pinball table. What you could do is plug into either a smart outlet as someone else mentioned or plug into one of those energy saving surge protectors that will cut the power on some of the outlets if you turn off the device that’s plugged into the outlet marked as the switch for the other outlets.

They could have and should have added an on/off switch IMO. If your spending $300 what's another $0.20 for a switch lever?! I wouldn't buy it unless it was under $100.00!

I have this display for the ALU. When I first got it, back in December, it always displayed "Legends Ultimate", when plugged in. then, when the ALU was powered on, it blinked, and went to it's welcome screen, then back to Legends Ultimate, or whatever game was being run, after the ALU finished loading. On power off of the ALU, it went to Legends Ultimate, and stayed like that, until unpowered. So, I put a remote outlet inline, with the ALU, and display. This was my work-around for avoiding having to go behind the machine, to unplug. Of course, just this month, on the 27th, AtGames released a firmware update, and now, the display goes black, on ALU power down, and stays black, until the ALU is powered on. So, maybe they heard you. Don't know if this is the case with the ALP, now, though. If not, maybe the remote outlet will make it less of an annoyance. Thanks for sharing.

Great idea! I already have a “one button ON” wall switch for the whole Arcade using Wi-Fi modules but I didn’t know if it had its own power supply to control that way. Isn’t there a way to tap into the machine power with a 2 way barrel splitter plug? I have it pre-ordered from NOD for much less than $300, not worth that for aesthetics for sure. Great review, Mad Little Pixel!

I don't know how your arcade system works power wise but a smart power strip could turn off the power to the LED marquee when arcade system is turned off or is out in sleep mode (if available) I use one on my computer so everything is effectively unplugged when I put my computer to sleep

Atgames Ultimate Legends owner 1. Bought a smart power surge protector 2. Plug everything to it 3. Turn everything on and off from phone. 👍 I do agree that they should implement a FW update or just put a damn switch on the marquee.

How’s the glare of the bitpixel on the table screen? I also wish they could’ve come up with a better solution for the USB plug. Not crazy about having that wire sticking out at the front of the table.

So, I know this is an older video now, but I actually have my entire arcade on Alexa enabled power plugs (with power strips plugged into those), so I can shut everything off that way. That's a pretty cheap and easy fix, and super awesome to be able to have the entire arcade room power on and off.

There's a great option by ACustomArcade on Etsy which is a PCB called a Legends BitPixel Accessory (LBPA). This PCB provides several power connectors, USB ports and a electromagnetic switch to cut off the power on all the devices when the ALP goes off. Atm, the device is sold out, but the guy is very kind and does reply to your questions: perhaps he's willing to make some more LBPA's if requested. Worth the shot I'll say!

Agree. Should be an option in the firmware/software to either leave it running or have it turn off when switching of the Legends Ultimate system.

Very easy fix. buy a 9.00 dollar USB power switch.. that's what I use on my ALU on off switch mounted on top of matchine.. just turn it off and on at will.. easy fix

Seems kind of useless anyway. Considering the back glass changes with each game and displays an fmv with it for each table. For the legends ultimate it makes allot more sense, so you can have a matching marquee for each game. So for it to be just a thing to look at plus 300 and this unnecessary extra step to power off, I’d say it’s a no buy. There’s much cooler things you can spend 300 on. I know at games does bundle items with their products, so maybe if you can catch a deal on that table and it’s bundled with the bitpixel for a discount price if you don’t already have a table sure I guess that’s okay. But just by itself, seems like a nope.

When I first got the original Bitpixel for the Legends Ultimate Arcades, the bitpixel stayed on while the arcade was powered off! A few weeks after, it stopped doing that. Almost as though they patched it or something to make it turn off while the machine is off. Very odd.

Yeah I completely get what you’re saying, I felt the same way luckily it’s plugged into my six plug power strip so I just hit the switch and turn it off that way. I also have all my cabinets connected to my Alexa so I can just say hey Alexa turn off the Batcave and it shuts them all down

Like any sane person, I agree that the HV should shut off when you turn off the ALP. What I'd really like to know is if the HV could be mounted in front of the Legends Pinball logo vs. atop the back box.

What happens if you remove the included micro SD card currently plugged into it? I had to do that in order to get it to turn off with my Legends Ultimate. The Pixelcade software once installed on your flash drive should have the same files.

My regular bitpixel does not shut off! Pissed me off after I bought it. The instructions say use a power strip to turn my legends and bitpixel on and off at the same time .. um ghetto as hell!

I use smart outlets for all this stuff, I say turn on arcade my cabs and LED displays turn on with some neon lamps. Then I also can say turn off neon lights that generically shuts off the LEDs and all the lighting but keep the cabinets on. Or I could say turn off arcade which turns everything off or if I just want the lights I can say turn on neon lights which includes all other lighting.

You're not going crazy, seeing that logo 24/7 would bug the crap out of me too. Like you mentioned having the ability to to turn off the stay on forever option seems like a relatively simple fix on their end. Maybe a future firmware update addresses the issue

100% why I keep coming back to this channel, honest reviews! The implementation is totally off, should power off with the rest of the machine and tie into the master power switch. Hard pass.

It's definitely pretty dumb this stays on all the time by default, but this isn't a hard problem to solve. A simple in line on/off switch or any number of other options would fix that.

what you talking about my pixelcade stays illuminated on my arcade legends ultimate when i turn it off - and don't forget atgames didn't create the bitpixel!!!!!! some guy did unrelated to the company did as an addon - so thats why its not integrated as well as it could have been

I have no interest in this for the ALP. I do enjoy it on the ALU. Put your stuff on a 6 plug surge protector and then plug that into a smart plug and you should be good to go. Thats what I do.

Maybe I didn't explain it fully with how this plugs in. But it requires external power and a usb from the bitpixel to the arcade machine. If you unplug the usb, which a usb switch would do the same, it still displays Legends Arcade. So the better option would be finding a barrel jack extension that has a power cutoff switch. Thats the only option I can think of and they can still be had for a few bucks... but still it should have been part of the thought with the design in my opinion and either included or implemented via software.

EASY i just have a smart plug - I tell echo to turn on arcade / turn off arcade - all the marques and machines turn off / turn on easily

I just dont see the point of having a marque on top of my.....marque. Does anybody really want more branding on this pinball? There seems to be plenty already for my taste!
