What did you get the air changes per hour down to? Also, since you tightened up the building a lot, did you have to put in an ERV or a dehumidifier?

Curious about what the polyiso board was installed over (what the house had for structural shear / walls). Did this house have sheathing (boards) under the existing/original cladding ?

What do you guys do at the top of the rainscreen? It has to be open to the air for drying, but what keeps debris and bugs entering from the top? You and Matt always talk about bug screens at the bottom but what about bees, wasps, and mud daubers?

There is a detail for that I saw on a video from Mr. A Builders in England. I don’t know if it is used in the U. S.A.

Using 3/8 inch gap as a minimum for droplets to drain, what is the evaluation of the 1\4 in thickness of the rain screen mat products many companies are coming out with? Is it not as effective so you risk some longevity? Still needs testing? Just as effective because the mesh provides a break in tention?

Did this improve the blower door numbers? Considering something similar for my mother-in-laws NE house, built with fiberboard sheathing in the 40's!

thanks, Steve... mentioning the DER concept, what was the mindset on continuous air barrier and transitions (for example foamboard to foundation wall) when this project was done? My house is in SE US and a mix of brick veneer and masonite siding from eighties and I had thought of adding a foam board retrofit just to the sided areas if I replace the siding with something like Hardie. Only benefit may be to get a modest improvement on air barrier in upper parts of house and keep the baking sun from heating the upper floor, but nothing I can do with air loss overall or sun baking the brick and radiating.

What are you putting behind your Tuff-R insulation a vapor barrier? Would 2" work if my overhangs are minimum or would it condensate. How much overhang is needed after completion? My overhangs are about 6" now. Really enjoy your video's.

I don't understand your question but if the Tuff-R is foil faced and taped, it is a vapor barrier. But it's on the outside, so it dries inward @3:20.
