2:03 No, that wasn’t the Darkness. They’ll tell you later so short version is the Iron Lords were just fighting off Rasputin’s defenses. 4:40 The Warmind was made by the Clovis Bray corporation. The Iron Lords were formed in Dark Age post Collapse. 27:04 officially Rasputin considered the Iron Lords as trespassers and used SIVA to neutralize them. The ones who led the Iron Lords initially to SIVA were Lord Timur and Lord Felwinter, both Warlocks.

So SIVA was a golden age nanotechnology that was designed to be used to easily build stuff for human colonists when they arrived at new planets, as well as just other general stuff. The iron lords were basically like the first guardians, before the vanguard was established and all these rules were put into place, they wanted to use SIVA to rebuild stuff from the golden age after they learned about it. However for some reason Rasputin really didn’t want them to have it, perhaps he thought the iron lords were like many of the other lightbarers of the time, warlords who used their immortality and powers granted to them by the light to rule over small communities of humans like tyrants. when they finally reached the replication chamber Rasputin gave the SIVA there a fairly simple set of commands: “Replicate. Eliminate. Immunize.” Perhaps when the fallen found it they managed to change this command or perhaps the data got corrupted over time but by the events of rise of iron the command had been changed to “consume, enhance, replicate”. I think that technically SIVA was working as intended, it just had been given very non-specific vague, aggressive, and wide-spread commands; and as such it built vague and non-specific structures and spread in a aggressive and indiscriminate way.

Unfortunately we do know why Rasputin used SIVA against the iron lords but it was just basic after activity dialogue during season of the seraph that many people completely missed it.

When that boss fight starts and Jolder is saying "the door, I have to--" it makes me so sad I didn't get to play this.

Fun fact when d2 launched you could transfer your d1 characters to it and if you completed that character in the game would call you young wolf

The Fallen (Eliksni) are very good engineers. I'd say they are easily on par with alien species like the Quarians in Mass Effect. If anyone could make use of SIVA to a level beyond humanity, it's them.

Ooh, it’s always nice to see someone new to Destiny react to the world it’s presenting! When it comes to Destiny 2, I’d recommend using Destin’s videos, as they contain many moments-both minor and major but out of the way-that other channels frequently lack. I look forward to seeing what you think of Destiny going forward.

They have all of the Destiny OSTs on Spotify and I know I have them all in a playlist and listen while at work. Salvatori's work for D1 and D2 are just amazing! Can't wait till you see all of D2

iron lords were essentially the proto-guardians, first there were just "Risen" after the collapse, these risen quickly realized how powerful they are compared to mortals and just took territories calling themselves Warlords, then a few Risen banded together as the Iron Lords to fight tyrannical Warlords they weren't fighting the darkness, they were fighting SIVA, nano machines under the control of Rasputin also those enemies in the beginning were "Splicers", Fallen that integrate machinery into their body, in this case siva warminds are not created by the Iron Lords, they are a Relic of the Golden Age there are people called Paladins in Destiny but they are Awoken Commanders, so sadly no saladin the paladin lol, he's named after the real life person though yes same Servitor brought back with SIVA also servitors are Machines created by the Fallen, in part for religious practice and in part because they are creating "Ether" a substance that works as Food for the fallen it was SIVA, the thing she sealed was the SIVA replication chamber Rasputin interfered because SIVA is his and the Iron Lords were essentially trespassing because SIVA is incredibly dangerous, not evil but impossible to control yes resurrection is canon, the light grants us Immortality through our ghost being able to bring us back but it also robs us of our memories from before we were rezzed for the first time i also realized some of that was explained in cutscenes when i thought it's just in lore pages but I'm to lazy to delete it 😂

There’s actually an Age of Triumph for D1 after Rise of Iron. This expansion was really good and was when I got into Destiny after playing the game once. Really had fun and was unlike anything I ever played.

This is a month late, but there are many things about the fate of the Iron Lords and Rasputin you will learn in time. I'm watching this after you've witnessed Warmind, so by now you know that Rasputin's main facility is located on Mars, but there is much more to him and the Iron Lords that will be explained. As for SIVA, it is indeed something mechanical, a self-replicating nanotechnology created during the Golden Age by the Clovis Bray Corporation. It was intended to build colonies and ships, or as Saladin says, practically anything mankind would ever need. But SIVA had a crucial flaw: its designers were so obsessed with the possibilities of its function that they ignored adding safety measures to prevent it from raging out of control. After the Collapse, it laid dormant inside the Replication Chamber in Site 6 until the Iron Lords found it, and Rasputin used it to eliminate the intruders. It was eventually discovered by Aksis, a disgraced Archon Priest, who used it to become more machine than Fallen and ascend to godhood. Aksis is the final boss of the Wrath of the Machine raid, where you infiltrate the lair of the Devil Splicers and destroy Aksis in the heart of the Perfection Complex.

So the game of destiny will never be answered to people who just watch the videos, certain scenes were cut out and certain scannables in the game were skipped. As well as many of the origins of many of the games characters and their motives are locked out behind grimoire cards and lore pieces tied to armer/weapons that were either not viewed or outside the game. So yeah...
