One of my favorite videos on all of KZfaq. Everything, from the music to the narration to the cinematography, is really well done. First time I saw it I was not prepared for the emotional response that I had. I was expecting just a nice video of some guy on the street looking through a telescope. To see so many different people's wonderment and joy brought tears to my eyes. I like to come back to this video every now and then when I'm feeling a bit exasperated with how bad we sometimes treat each other. Space can be a great unifier and give people a sense of hope - if the will just look up!

Occasionally I feel an immense love for humanity and I feel hope for the future. This video did that for me.

Made me shed a tear at the joy you brought those people and also how ignorant so many of us are of the simple things in life.

I am just 1 tiny comment among a sea of comments, but what you have shared with others is a gift they will remember forever. I remember seeing the moon through a telescope for the first time. The chills, the wonder, the awe; it has stayed with me through all these years.

I love those first reactions. Reminded me of when I was around 20 and took a telescope to the backyard and saw Saturn's rings for the first time so close. It was truly breathtaking.

Great work. Just imagine if these folks could be in a dark sky zone. The Milky Way would life changing.

Having everyone become ecstatic viewing something so common as the moon in more detail, knowing that any human will feel joy from simply viewing the moon, is incredible. I love you for this. My brother in law had the same reaction when I showed him the moon with my little Orion. last spring. The first time I saw something through a telescope was in College. It was Saturn. I stepped away and cried.

When I was 8 years old, the local astronomy club brought their telescopes to my school one night. I can still vividly recall seeing Jupiter and the shadow of tiny Io as it crossed - so glad I had that experience as a child.

It's so amazing to see how much joy this brings to everyone. It doesn't matter what is going on around you or where you are in the world, we all are together under the night sky with the moon above us. Such a grounding thought which puts all our perceived struggles in perspective.

Dear To Scale channel. I've just watched your 'The Solar System To Scale' clip, and this. I just wanted to say that you have a real talent for creating content that is beautiful and truly profound. The editing, music and cinematography is as good as anything made by National Geographic, or anyone else, as far as I'm concerned, and I watch a hell of a lot of astronomy content. I have to say, this moved me to tears. Not just the awe-inspiring majesty of the moon, but also the simplistic joy felt by all: the coming together in a most wonderful and remarkable sense of amazement for Nature's beauty and magnificence. This is a GREAT gift for all of us...and I thank you :-)

Goes to show that science is not reaching people far enough. I hope there comes a time where looking at the Moon through a telescope is something we all do as kids, and gazing upon our marvelous sky become as common as sipping a cup of coffee.

When my grand-daughter was 3 yrs. old, she lived in L.A. when I lived in Maine. I used to call her when the moon was beginning to rise in L.A. and ask if she could see the SAME MOON I was looking at from so far away. I used to pretend that we could both see it at the same time and she liked that. We always ended our calls with, “Meet you on the Moon”. I had forgotten those moments, until I watched your video. BRAVO to you for a beautiful gift of enlightening these city folks! It is 2:00 a.m. and we are now living north of L.A. Sleep alludes me because my grand-daughter, now 15 yrs. old is lying in a hospital bed. She is at Cedar’s-Sinai going in to her 5th week in ICU with what they are calling a “rare virus”. There is no question in my heart what that virus is. Likely some mutation of Covid-19. We are praying that she will recover. Thank You for the beautiful act of showing Angelenos how to “Meet you on the Moon” and for reminding this Grandma of those precious moments.

I’ve got my own telescope, I’ve seen the moon through it so many times, yet something always makes me set up the telescope to look at it again.

WOW this just made me cry. My Dad just died this year 3 days before my birthday and when I was about 5 he bought me a telescope, a good one because I was so obsessed with astronomy then and now and I remember this exact reaction and just sitting there next to my pool with my Dad staring at the moon for hours. I hadn't thought of that in years so this was very touching and sentimental for me. I wish I could see it from your telescope because though I got a great look I'm sure it's nothing compared to your view. This was so special, thanks for making this. I always thought I was such a strange kid and adult because I felt an actual.anger that I could never go to space, it didn't seem fair that I'd never get to touch the moon that has always meant so much to me.

“Is that, like, a live image?” that’s so precious

I used to do this in my neighborhood. When people would walk by I'd invite them to see the moon. I had an 8 inch dobsonian telescope. The light from the moon would light up their eye and they always gasped. Pictures and video can't do it justice. Not only can you see seemingly the tiniest detail, but you feel see the air of the atmosphere slightly rippling the image. I used to see bats fly across the face of the moon through my telescope, from a great distance. They were tiny little flapping dots, and it would take four or five seconds for them to cross it. Pure magic.

This is one of the few videos that I keep coming back to. So heart warming, and inspiring!

Idk why but seeing all the faces & hearing their responses got me very emotional! I love to go out & look up, no matter what phase the moon is in....I LOVE IT! We are blessed to be able to see such beauty. Please make more more videos! I just happens to roll up on this one & the scaled solar system...it was AMAZING.

Up until I was 5ish, I thought the moon and sun followed me, and only me, around. My mom said something like, "ya honey you'll always see them because they want to be with you forever" or something like that, so I guess I took it to heart lol. I would run back and forth throughout my yard and cul-de-sac to see if the sun ever 'left me' and it never did. And then at night i would check to see if the moon was always there and it was! ...then my dad told me that that happens to everyone and ya I cried some, but I've been hooked ever since. everyone seeing the sun and moon wherever they went stumped me and I had to find out how and things went on from there. so yeah. Lol so embarrassing!! but that's what sparked my interest in space and all that.

This is how I feel every time I get my own telescope out and why I enjoy astronomy so much! I just wish I could get my all my friends to see the wonder that is our universe... I usually get the response "I've seem pictures, what's the difference?" They just don't get how real it is when you see it with your own eyes...

I had these binoculars for years. On a warm summer night, I was enjoying a cup of Turkish coffee in my back garden. My home was on a hill and had a beautiful view. the moon was shining and for the first time, I turned the scope to the moon. My reaction was the same with the people in this video... Fucking amazing. I was asking myself why didn't I think about that before.
