I went through all of my Prismacolors and grouped them by lights to darks of the same family. Some of my groups have 2 in a group, some go up to 6 in a group. I didn’t want to limit options to 3 if there are more than 3 that work (just personal preference). I didn’t want to organize them by those colors. I prefer to keep my pencils in numerical order. I keep the combinations chart in the front pouch of my zipper case though. It’s really helpful!

IDEA: I cut some Springhill Vellum Bristol into 8" strips that fit the width of the slots. I then color long stripes of each of the combo colors on a strip, write the color name/number on the end and place the strips in the slots. I place the corresponding pencils over the matching stripe. This makes for a completely changeable setup and when I have a combo that uses the same color as another combo, the colored stripe acts as a reminder of the missing pencil. Hope this is helpful for some.

Thanks for the video. There is one person (YT channel), that has her Prisma pencil set all sorted in combos in a case like this (Coloring Bliss). I have several cases like yours, same brand, and use the pocket in the front to store a swatch and/or combo sheet)

Thanks for this review/tip. Tip for the multi-zipper cases: put all the zipper pulls on a single binder ring - now you can easily open/close all zippers all at the same time with one pull of the binder ring. I have that exact same Green Cactus BTSKY case. I keep my Sakura and Steadler fine liner pens in my case and all slots are completely full. I am not liking this case for two main reasons. 1. The sides with the zipper are deep, so while it is nice to only have to open one zipper, the pens in the front and back panels are hard to get out. This is due to the large “lip” of material around these two panels, the pens keep catching on the lip. 2. The inner panels are very floppy and, when fully loaded with pens, are unwieldy when flipping them over. This is due to the hard panels only being attached with flimsy material that does not go all the way from edge to edge. Note that there are 9 Slots per page, the Front/Back Pages with 7x 3 cm slots and 2x 4 cm slots, the inner pages have 9x 3 cm slots. - 3 cm slots can hold 2-3 pencils or 1-2 gel pens - 4 cm slots can hold 3-4 pencils or 2-3 gel pens

For the deep lip, I thought it was inconvenient at first as well, but then got used to it. The corners can be folded back if needed. I don’t find it necessary though. I can get my pencils out just fine. I have 2 of these pencil cases now, plus a multi-zipper that’s low capacity.

The individual slot cases are harder to find, it seems. I found an individual slot one for my daughter, and one of the zipper tabs went off the end of the zippers, and she couldn't get it back on. She is very frustrated with that even though it is a pretty case. It's a good thing you have extra prismacolor sets. You can do this arrangement with one set and have another set in an individual case in color order! 🤗 I wonder if the Colorit books might fit in the slot side?

I have these cases for my prismas and polys and love them. The quality is excellent and those cases have been travelling with me back and forth to Canada and the US. Your channel has been a Godsend.

For the zippers on the cases I used that hook clamp thing with the loop that it came with (green Rose case) or try a key ring and loop all the zippers in so it unzips in one simple pull that way you can unzip them all at the same time. I hope that makes sense I know it would work for your other cases at least

Hello! 220 pencils do not fit in this case. This is the one advertised as 166 pencils. The 220 has 3 mobile trays. This is the 166 that has 2 mobile trays. I ordered mine the same as yours and it also arrived wrong. I have returned it because the 180 pencils I have do not fit. I have asked for it again because I thought it had been a specific error. After watching your video, I'm afraid they will send it wrong again.☹ I love your videos. have a nice day😘

Amazing video, you could use all different brands of pencils aswell eg: I have Arteza, Shuttle Art and square Brutfuner for all I have certain colour blends, so rather than keep pulling out my 3 cases when doing leaves, I could just use the 1 case. Thanks so much for sharing a great idea. The spare one at back I’d use for my gel pens etc. Need to order one of these now, in mean time I’m going to sort out my blends etc xxx

I tried to get my gel pens in there but it was very snug and put a mark on the band of my case. I think I showed it on the video. It’s been a while so I can’t remember.

I grabbed the 150 set for 70.00 when you posted it. I have been doing color sets. It's fun and some colors are surprising when you swatch them.

What happens if you need one of the pencils for more than one of the color combinations?

I am going to do this with my spare set. But if you need to use a color, I would just pull it out and use it. You can also swatch all your combinations on a swatch chart to match what you've put together in your pencil case. This way, if they get out of order, you would know where to put them back so they're still in their original order.
