Suddenly killing off the characters that survived in the last movie has to be one of the most annoying thing horror movies do. It sucks seeing characters you've grown to like just die.

Alice (the protagonist) is what make this film so good. At the beginning of the film, she's such an introvert, she's not confident and she hates the reality that she lives in. She can't even look at herself in the mirror. That's why she constantly find herself daydreaming. As her friends die one by one, she realises that she has to face reality in order to survive, that's what that sequence with her brother at his funeral is all about: she finally quit daydreaming. I think it's great to see her growth in this film and I loved every one of those scenes of her taking the photos off the mirror, because that shows that she's finally accepting herself.

Honestly, I appreciate that they spent more time on the dream-like visuals than the story because that’s exactly what a dream is, it’s random moments put together along with weird imagery to form a movie-like sequence.

I always like the Rick hallucination. It showed that Alice loved her brother.

Karate skills may of came from Alice's brother, but the gymnastic skills came from Kristen. Remember in Dream Warriors it was revealed along with pulling people into dreams Kristen is a skilled gymist in her dreams

My dad recorded this on VHS back when it aired on HBO in 1990... I transferred the tape nearly 10 years ago and still have that to this day. It's got the original Neon-themed bumpers in-between to sweeten the retro deal and relive the day it aired!

My older brother use to own a water bed so as a kid that scene with the water bed terrified me from ever sleeping on it again! On that note yes water beds were an actually thing it was super uncomfortable to sleep on and leaked water pretty easily! 😱

The abrupt deaths of the surviving "Dream Warriors" never bothered me a ton because Fred could have killed them that quickly in the previous film. He'd been toying with them for weeks in that story...it's not like they were all kinds of clever and resourceful lol.

I agree, Rick’s death was easily one of the lamest in the entire franchise. And that wasn’t even what his death was originally planned to be! According to the _Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy_ documentary, apparently the elevator he was in was originally going to crumble apart, and he was basically going to fall into the abyss, but they had literally used up the whole budget at that point, so they had to come up with something else.

Do you ever watch some movies and get the sense that they were written with the intent to be adapted into a video game? Because the concept of Alice slowly gaining more skills and abilities as the movie progresses feel a lot like a player leveling up.
