I briefly thought, well, not the most accurate title, but after second thought, she did hit the best seller in each "major" category first. If they had done just the list, it would've probably become comparing something to what it should be similar to, which is pretty much what they did in their video.

I have a huge array of whiskeys and I never understood the hate for Jack... I actually like the smell and taste, I find it smooth and sweet. Sure, it's not nearly as complex and special as some others, but I don't really have a bad experience with it. Maybe others just over-drink it in college and do stupid stuff then associate the drink with those emotions. Overall though, I find it pretty decent.

@@JoshChristiane It is most certainly not bad, but to me it is very boring, has no kick to it and the taste is sub-par. It is too sweet and then a bit bitter for me, that's it really. It has a strange taste, it tastes like feet. x) For the price you can get much better. I usually even prefer to drink a Jim Beam White if I want something simple and cheaper. In my country Jack's price sometimes goes up as high as Maker's Mark, and Maker's is just a whole different category, or Jim Beam Black which is again much-much-much better

Start with Scotch or Bourbon, then transition to Rye and finish with something extra smoky, barrel-proof. Also in increasingly higher quantities (start with maybe 1/4 ounce and scale up to a full shot by the end). The person would freely choose to continue or not, same as Hot Ones, and the real deals can finish with that darn shot.

@@fredlabosch5164 Johnnie Red is a good blended whisky. I tried Johnnie Black, but like Red better. I prefer Cutty Sark to either. Even bottom shelf blends can be very drinkable. A friend set up a blind tasting once, and Old Crow came out #1. Sometimes top shelf is worth the money, sometimes it's just marketing.

Brianna actually has a very good sense of aroma's for a beginner. Excellent, even! If she can actually name stuff like lemoncake and chocolate covered cherries on here first nosing, she's golden for a career of whisky smelling and tasting! Most beginners I meet don't go any further than describing it as "awful rubbing alcohol" if nothing less.

I have watched this one a few times. The "noob" approach is fantastic! I love when Daniel and Rex talk whisk(e)y . . . it is so helpful. However, watching them talk a noob through is even better. I have had most of what was tried here and went along recognizing what was described. I would love to see a "Noob" series . . . and if you could get celebrities to join, that would be "fantastic-er". Celebrities from Sports, The News, and, of course, movies and TV. Great stuff!!

Yes, you are quite correct. Rex *has* come a long way. In fact, with his growing *sniffin & sippin* abilities, he is becoming less "Mooch" and more "Hobbit" (albeit a Giant Hobbit....mayhaps, the *Worlds Tallest Hobbit* ). Perhaps these "Introduction To Whiskey" episodes are actually try-outs, screen tests, personality profilings. For a *"Whiskey Mooch Replacement"* ? Has Rex realized that he is becoming Daniel ? And that there is no return? That he must now pass on the *Mooch Necklace & Accoutrement* , to a young, promising *noob* , then travel the *Sommelier Path* ? Will Rex learn to embrace *Dad Jokes* ? Will we yet see...*The Skullet* ... at long last? *Is This The Will Of The Whiskey Gods??* *The Tribe humbly awaits a sign* PS So far, Briana has my vote. ( *IF* Rex giving up the crown) ;-) :-) :-D lol

I haven't been watching you guys for long but that's all on me. I truly enjoy your channel and chemistry. You guys really seem like you'd be great to just hang out with and have a few drinks. I'm a whiskey/bourbon guy so this channel is absolutely perfect for me.

Today I tried sipping a bourbon "like hot coffee" for the first time, after watching this video. (I've seen a few earlier videos that suggested it too). Suddenly I don't hate bourbon anymore. Y'all saved a whole category of whisk(e)y for me! Thanks :)

GREAT EPISODE! WHISKY TIME! Briana was very entertaining and getting to seeing your fun reactions to each whiskey she tried was amazing. I'm glad you went down the road of what she was interested in (Scotch/Rye/Bourbon) with things not on the list. It was funny seeing you guys go from a list of whiskeys to going off the rails and getting different things based off her taste.

She has talent for this! I like how she is able to describe the smell's and flavours quite well. She is young, and can be better at this than all of you in a few years! She is also cool and relaxed in front of the camera.
