I can absolutely relate. My mom and dad are form north and south Goa respectively, but I grew up in Mapusa. Whenever I go South Goa and try speaking their way it sounds totally different and most often I get teased for my dialect. 😀

I m from Karwar, Karnataka & even I speak Konkani as my mother tongue and our Karwar Konkani dialect is also kindaa unique and amazing and it was really really nice to know about the Goan Konkani dialects & the difference between the North Goan Konkani dialects and the South Goan Konkani dialects. As someone with a father from the north and a mother from the south.... this was very relatable especially when I'm bantering with either side cousins. Also I study in Ponda, so the last final segment was hilarious as I could understand all three of them. (I'm teased by my cousins for acquiring a bit of the 'Ponda' konkani.) When I was younger family occasions were fun, they still are, but we have grown up, a bit.

This turned out to be very educative. We mangalorean Catholics speak the North Goan dialect. Most mangalorea GSB seem to be using South Goan

This difference in dialect can be seen only in Catholic people but most of the Hindus speak the same dialect of konkani throughout Goa irrespective of all that lets unite and throw the Gang of Ali Baba and 40 thieves out of Goa for the welfare of Goa ! Let's make Uzo 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

In my family there are atleast three dialects between maternal and paternal relatives. And all of us are north goans. The differences are more pronounced if you go to villages.
