My hubs was diagnosed approx 15 yrs ago. Finding this site about a month or two ago was a God-send as the rougher times had started. I love the rawness of your videos, especially including your friend and family dynamic. It helps us fight another day! The Offs - and the depression pit the Offs "trips" hubs into - is the worst part of this journey so far. God bless you in this endeavor to inform and connect with other adventurers who are dealing with a myriad of issues. ❤️ another Okanagan 🍑 😊

Hi Rose thank you for your comment and your encouragement and for finding this channel. I am sorry that your husband is starting to hit some rough times I hope something can be found to help ease his symptoms. I am fairly certain you are the first person to comment from the Okanagan. Nice to meet you. 😃🙂☺️

Music with a beat might get your mind off your your mental block. Keep hydrated for cramps. You’re were you’re are tell yourself relax stop say stop quit thinking. All these thoughts have to be remembered many times there are no real answers every experience is always unique. If there is an earthquake each earthquake will always be different and your response will always be different. You can’t outsmart the unknown. Keep on just expressing the unknown experience. Every medication ha some kind of effect and depending on the fluid in your body the medication is absorbed differently each time. Bless you keep sharing.

Hi Myles, thanks for the encouraging comments. Yes, I agree, I think about things a lot and oftentimes that is not good for me, especially when I'm off. Yes, I cannot outsmart the unknown, the unknown always wins. Thanks for the kind words, and solid advice.😀😁😊

It was great to see the Mrs! There are bed sheets that you can get, they use them in hospitals and retirement homes, that you can use to roll someone over from side to side. Very useful. My husband has had a Parkinson’s for 21 yrs. I was wondering if your wife has told you if you yell in your sleep too? Or if you have ever jumped or leapt out of bed because of your dreams? This is the reason my husband and I sleep in different rooms (right next to each other). Have you ever taken a dance class for Parkinson’s? Or a boxing class?
@LifewithParkinsons
@LifewithParkinsons Жыл бұрын
Hi Loris, my wife and I sleep in separate bedrooms also. If I am stressed I will yell and wake myself up, but the clonazepam has taken care of most of the sleep issues. Also, the Comfort Linen sheets are amazing, they were invented by a frontline health care worker. I would love to take a dance class and am looking into it. I know it helps with PD a lot, and I am so looking forward to it.😀😁😊

That must have been a scary time for you David,unable to move when you wanted to. I remember Michael J Fox saying in one of his books that he had this problem. He would dry swallow his meds and wait for them to kick in before he could move. Laying on your stomach is not a good idea but how do you prevent that? Maybe stack up some pillows on one side to keep you from rolling over.
@LifewithParkinsons
@LifewithParkinsons Жыл бұрын
Hi Jim, it was not fun to wake up like this. Stacking some pillows is a good suggestion. If I could get my hands on an Inbrija inhaler it would be great. Tough in Canada.😀😁😊

Hey David and Hayley ❤️ I wanted to give enough time for others to comment on this video to see what could be said since I don't have that type of Parkinson's. Temporarily I would avoid the bed. If you have a reclining sofa or chair stay with that until you can get a hold of your Dr and get something figured out. At least this puts the pressure off of Hayley since you'r much taller. I looked for an emergency #for the MJF foundation but didn't see one which surprised me. I'd still call them come Mon though and chat w someone. Keep us posted David so we don't worry about you both. Hugs and love to you both ☺️🤗❤️

Thanks for the concern and suggestions Tory, much appreciated. I will talk to my doctor, I need to see him anyhow. What we need is some rescue medication in Canada. Would like to get my hands on an Inbrija inhaler.😀😁😊

@@LifewithParkinsons Well David if I had some i'd share ha ha.. I did look it up as I was curious if there was an alternative and I see that ropinarole is one, it's not Levodopa but a muscle relaxer. No doubt your Neuro will guide you to something useful. Til then you and Hayley are both in my prayers 🙏💜

Can you request physical therapy? Occupational PT could come to your house and be very specific on methods to deal with these situations. Can you or your doctor order the medication from the states? God bless you and your wife.

Here’s my take on your situation on the bed I notice your all scrunched up at head of bed see if you can wiggle your body twisting around to the foot of your bed and slide off to get a leg on to the floor or twist enough to roll over then slip off the bed or keep a high back chair or walker at the end of your bed. I’m following you occasionally but keep informing it is so beneficial for everyone for you to keep expressing yourself. Beneficial for you and me. I asked what I would do if I couldn’t move and it the above response that I came up with. Keep your phone attached close on the bed before you go to sleep. So as last resort you can call for help. Rope on her to pull yourself up or down. That’s all I have for now keep everyone thinking. Bless you hang in there.
@LifewithParkinsons

Hi Myles, thanks for the suggestions, having a rope is a good idea. The idea has run through my mind before, but you mentioning it highlights it a bit better for me. I do often roll out of bed, but this time I just couldn't make it happen. It is a privilege to share my journey with so many others.😀😁😊
