Walk along this old section of track of the Forest of Dean Central Railway between Awre and Blakeney. The line opened in 1868 for moving goods between forest collieries and the main line railway between Gloucester & Cardiff.
The line was massively reduced to just Blakeney goods yard in 1922 as business was overtaken by the mineral loop of the Severn & Wye Railway. It completely closed in 1949. The line was never used for passenger services.
