Maynard is great but Billy Howerdel...wow...a quiet, earthy genius...what a fantastic personal style he has....beautiful, dissonant chord progressions and unexpected arrangements. No wonder Maynard joined with Billy and that Maynard's inspired by his music to write those dark and emotional lyrics. This is the new Page/Plant of the dark/ethereal rock world. Everything is right about this band. I saw them live in Austin. One of the best shows ever...and no projection screens...what a relief...just great music. During the show my friend said to me "I feel like I'm in another world." Now THAT'S what music is about. xo

I somehow had this on my ipod back in 2011 during a tour in Afghanistan. I remember laying out under the stars playing this for my brother's and everybody asking who this band was. It's still like a dream to me being there with those amazing people seeing such an amazing sight while hearing this. I can't imagine I'll ever forget it
