Pulau Pangkor in the state of Perak is also Duty Free With affordable accommodations and fresh seafood Pulau Pangkor Laut a high end resort Or Go to the East Coast to Pulau Kapas a short 10 minutes boat ride Pulau Perhentian or Pulau Redang wee bit pricey And do visit Sabah the seafood is very affordable The Island's are considered on par with Maldives or even better and affordabke Sarawak with pristine jungles and exotic food You can more information from the Tourism of Malaysia website

Duty free islands in Malaysia Langkawi, Pangkor, Tioman (though they only have 2 small duty free shops), Labuan (in East Malaysia L) and an island inland on tasik(lake) kenyir. Then they are three or is it 4 duty free zones on the mainland, near the borders at Pengkalan Kubur and Rantau Panjang in Kelantan, Bukit Kayu Hitam in Kedah and Stulang Laut in Johor

I just love d sight of a pasar malam, d open night markets, abundance choices of d local street food. What is your fav street food, here in Malaysia? Have u guys tried Ramly burger?
@ZoeandSimon
@ZoeandSimon 2 жыл бұрын
We didn't try Ramly burger unfortunately, but that's one reason to go back! 😁 It depends on the definition of street food, but we loved almost everything we ate in Malaysia. Especially Nasi Lemak and Nasi Kampur, Rojak and pancakes with peanuts and butter, but also all the other great food from other cultures in Malaysia 😊
@Yasin_Affandi

@@ZoeandSimon Wonderful. D Malay culture has lots of rice dishes, some easy to eat with just a spoon, but many r delightful by eating with your clean right hands, esp nasi campur, white rice with gravy n one meat or seafood side dish n one type of veg dishes. D pasar malam, open night markets r one of d best places to taste d Malaysian street food from all cultures. And d Malaysian welcome street food from other cultures, ie kebab or shawarma. I was surprised to see few videos from KL that show delicious baklava n kunefe by a street in Kampung Baru, not far from KLCC. U r welcome for another visit to Malaysia. Sorry for this quite lengthy comment. 😁

@@ZoeandSimon Just crossed my mind, when u guys r back in Malaysia, tasting d street food at d night open markets, choose finger foods, no need for fork n spoon, when there r no chair n table. It's unfortunate that the sea is so full of trash these days that every time there's a high tides, the sea trashes would get washed up on some beaches. I've seen beaches in the Phillipines also faced similar issues. Hopefully there's an effort from their authority to have their workers clean the beaches periodically. God knows how many more trashes from past tsunamis and floods will washed up on shores.

The tourism industry has been rattled by Kedah’s PAS-led state government for suggesting that the sale of alcohol would be controlled on the resort island of Langkawi, following its move to shut down gaming outlets in the state. Its leaders have warned that any move to ban liquor will deter tourists from the island, which is a major contributor to Kedah’s economy.

Hi Bri, very nice that you're visiting Malaysia soon, we're jealous (we'd love to go back soon 😁)! We didn't have any stomach issues in Malaysia, but in general we don't get sick very often while travelling in South East Asia.
