Regarding President Nelson's comment, "I am a different man." I work at a temple. A few years ago I noticed a sister there almost every friday during my shift. I asked if she came every Friday? She said she went to the temple every day, she was on her 5th year, and that she knew of a some people on their 7th, 9th, and 11th year of going every day. ( Being in salt lake with so many temples nearby, she took advantage of making appointments at many temples.) i asked if she had miracles, and her comment was the biggest change was in her self.. basically line upon line, temple experience upon temple experience.. like pres. Nelson .

Thank you for such an inspiring podcast. I study in the scriptures daily and I love them very much. They have changed me and my life. But your words have given me a new more intense holier vision. Best regards from Germany.

We have some members who have sung new songs about the Atonement, original music mainly by one Brother, in our ward. It is lovely to find new material and restudy old scriptures, and new. President Nelson is for our seeking Christ through study-of the restoration, the Priesthood-especially the sisters, and Jesus Christ, and Temple covenants. I love learning and you help a lot with this. Thank you for your time and for your sweet wife allowing it.

Thank you so much for your videos. I like the way you can condense so much material into 35 to 40 minutes. Because with taking time to add notes in my scriptures it takes something over an hour which is a nice chunk of time for scripture study

When you were going through "What does Sherem teach us about modern anti-Christ" list, at the end you said Jacob is also going to ask for a sign. Was that an error? Shouldn't that be Sherem is going to ask for a sign? I love how you presented the allegory of the olive tree. It was easy to follow. Thank you.
@johnhiltoniii
@johnhiltoniii 3 ай бұрын
Looks like I misspoke there...yes, Sherem is the one who asks for a sign! Thanks for your kind words!

I've got a question for you. I was thinking about this parable and how God nourished the trees. It got me wondering how agency fits into this. All of the tools are done to the tree, but the tree doesn't have agency to accept the nourishment. Is it manifested by the fruits? (And a giant thank you for sharing your knowledge!)
@johnhiltoniii
@johnhiltoniii 3 ай бұрын
This is a great question...I have never thought of that before! My guess (and I'd have to think more about it) is that like all parables there are some limits to it, as agency doesn't seem to be factored into this allegory.
@alicewongham3541
@alicewongham3541 3 ай бұрын
Yeah, I kind of think that agency is represented by whether the trees bear good fruit or bad fruit because that is a consequence of whether the Master's nourishment is accepted or not.😊
