Being a musician with a son with autism, I understood the importance and beauty of the message in Tommy, about how a computer (at that time, a pinball machine) could be a realization for an autistic boy, and then a path of union for all humanity if we learn how to see, feel and then heal ourselves.

Gotta give it up for Ali Louis Bourzgui. The Who has been my favorite band for over 20 years, and Tommy got me into them. I’ve seen them 4 times and watched every DVD and video I could find when I was a teenager, always honing in on Tommy. I was skeptical given how associated Roger Daltrey is with the role voice of Tommy in my mind, but the second Ali started singing, I felt myself amazed, as if he was both channeling and honoring Roger’s gruffness and also making it his own. I watched this with my Mom, who got me into them when I was 15, and we were both crying tears of joy by the end and laughing at ourselves. Now we’re talking about going to New York and seeing this! It looks like an amazing production, and it warms my heart to see Pete, who got me into rock music as well as playing the guitar (which I still do every day), still out there doing what he loves and seeming really happy doing it. The Who will never cease to inspire me to live a better, more purposeful, more energized life. So cool that Pete and Ali connected to share Tommy with the world once again.

Saw it on Saturday. One word: Wow. What. An. Incredible. Show. The classic album, music and story from 1969 are drawing crowds and selling out theaters in 2024, and on Broadway! The curtain went up, the Overture kicked off, and I was enthralled. I got teary-eyed, enraptured to see it all unfolding in the magic of theater, the lighting, the settings and the performances from professionals who let you know right away this is the real deal, and these are the big boys and girls playing. And now I see several comments from those who also shed tears of joy. It's good to know I'm not alone!

I did too, and I thought it was actually lackluster. The movie was campy, but had an amazing cast and the band was in it. I'm a bit of a purist, and think the original album was the best, and timeless. That being said? This actually looks great and if it lasts a year I would try to see it. It's such a great story, and the music never gets old. Pete? Yeah he is old and raking in the bucks once again. Roger Daltrey does not paint a great picture of the man in his book, and I found his own biography to be boring and self centered. Just my opinions here, so please be nice with comments if you can.

BRILLIANT vocalist…..Such HEART and SOUL in the way he SINGS the words…..Not that Roger wasn’t brilliant too. …I first was listening to the Who when I was just 9 years old in 1971 …As a kid that age I was going into W H Smiths or Boots and buying their singles around the time Whose Next ….Like with the Beatles I later went back and listened to their earlier stuff later. ‘Let’s See Action ‘ just did something to me back then. That ending with Roger’s voice being put through that repeat echo unit with those harmonies and that acoustic guitar I would carry around inside my head right thru junior school everywhere….As a song ‘Join Together’ just blew my mind with its combination of original sounds and sheer stratospheric exuberance….And when I first heard the futuristic synth chords and power growl distortion riffs of ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ on this portable radio set upstairs radio set I remember as a kid just going crazy jumping on my parents bed like a trampoline with a Slazenger tennis racket pretending to play guitar like I was absolutely NUTS…lol,,,and this was before I even knew who Deep Purple were or Ritchie Blackmore Ah, the flashbacks.😊 Halcyon days.🎉 remember that Entwistle song -‘When I Was a Boy’ -those lyrics ..’when I was a baby, I hadn’t a care in the world. But now I’m a man my troubles fill my head. When I was five it was good to be alive but now I’m a man I wish that I was dead…and I count up all those wasted years…The hopes and the fears. The laughs and the tears, and I wonder,,, I wonder, I wonder what went wrong’….When I hear that music in my head today with those words my eyes just fill up…Sounds silly I know…But in the end,,,aloft,, there is only love ❤😢

boy oh boy am I a lucky one. first time visiting NYC in a few days, and when I saw this will just be hitting the broadway I had to buy the tickets. I saw the who only once live in concert, but since I'm 35 that's only a blessing

Pete is one of the best songwriters of all time, and highly underrated in this regard. The Who’s catalogue is one thing, but listen to his solo repertoire. Phenomenal!

Decades since I first heard Listening To You (as a kid with bad hearing and eyesight) and it still gives me goosebumps and chokes me up. Thanks Pete for being an inspiration in my life as an artist and a person. (Read his autobiography folks, or rather listen to the audiobook version he narrated himself. It is an amazing journey....)

I lived in Jersey 20 minutes from The City & Damn It! Now Tommy comes to Broadway?!? PLEASE take this on the road & go to my new home Chicago. The Who is my Number 1 favorite all time favorite band & I think I’m more of a Townsend fan. Freaking genius is an understatement.

Wonderful show! I was lucky to play the Acid Queen in a community theater production many years ago. I actually met Michael Cerveris after a Broadway performance of "Titanic". He was very gracious and we wrote to each other a couple times over the years. I also was lucky enough to go backstage and Bill Buell(original magistrate) gave myself and friend the tour. We stood on the stage and it is a memory I'll always be thankful for. I also met Anthony Barille(cousin Kevin) and Uncle Earnie. He was smoking outside the stage door. So incredible.
