My dad had a 504 in white with a tan interior back in the late 70's. His brother came back from doing a tour in Europe and brought the Peugeot with him. He needed a bigger car as the family was growing so my dad exchanged the Pontiac he had at the time for it. Enjoyed it for a few years until sourcing parts started to become expensive and time consuming. It was a rare car to see in Canada even then.

I had a 1977 504. I loved it and miss it still. If you want to feel the comfort of the seats, a friend has a 2015-ish Murano that comes pretty close.

Hi Elton, amazed you'd never seen a Peugeot 504 before! Our first Pug (as they're sometimes nicknamed) was a ’71 504 sedan with ‘Automatique'… This car had the original 'trapezoidal' headlamps like your example, before they replaced then with paired round headlights, totally spoiling the front end styling designed around those unique lights! The other nice aspect of this first series was that they came with the French-style front seats. Meaning that If you hated the extendable headrests, you could push them down to be flush with the TOP of the seats (so people didn't think you were a wimp/wuss, afraid of getting whiplash maybe)?! BUT the main downside of the ‘Automatique' was that acceleration was trés trés leisurely. Which my then wife had no problem with; but her husband DID!. So while SHE was in Germany revisiting rellies, HE sold it to a Peugeot/Renault dealer for what we paid for it, maybe two years earlier! (To be contd )

My Family had a 1977 Peugeot 504 Diesel in Champagne Gold with Brown Velour Seats, 4 Speed with Sunroof Quite a classy car at the time. Ours had an aux fuel tank in the trunk for extended range. The Suspension had plenty of soft travel and the seats were very plush. Most of these went to the junkyard needing Expensive repairs. The Car in your video looks like a 1976 to 1980 but has no Diesel emblem on the rear, so probably a gas 4cyl

My family actually used to have a green Peugeot 505 in Egypt but in 2010 since there were 4 kids in the family, we had to sell it to get a 2006 Peugeot 307 Station Wagon and that Station Wagon was not comfortable but hey, it’s a Volkswagen company so the Peugeot 307 Station Wagon is probably just an Audi Allroad but overseas

This guy guesses the wrong model at least twice and walked past the model number without reading it. I had one of these, diesel, 4 sod on the floor in the same beautiful sea mist green. I also had 2 403s and a 404.

Elton, check out some photos of the European spec one, I think it looks much better with the non-circular headlights and without the massive protruding black bumpers. A nicerlooking car for sure, can also be said for many European imported cars of the 70s/80s. Here's hoping the French finally reintroduce into the market sometime in our lifetimes.

Peugeot said they would be back to North America in 2023. It's not a good idea though, they make great cars (European car of the year 2014, 2017 and 2020! ) but not suited to American tastes. They are too luxurious and refined - same as European Volkwagen quality, which itself is better than American Volkswagen quality. And awesome European design - but Americans aren't ready to pay more for better quality and design. They buy bland Toyota and Chevrolet SUVs full of hard plastics.
