✦ ABOUT THIS VIDEO
Winter wildlife photography is definitely one of the things I love the most, and this time I am bringing my tent and camping equipment, so that I can stay out for several days.
In this third episode I am pleased with the amazing light combined with a blizzard.
I am looking forward to sharing this experience with you.
Happy watching and stay tuned for the next video.
✦ WHO I AM.
My name is Morten Hilmer and I am a professional nature and wildlife photographer.
I am a Nikon Ambassador and I work as an ILCP photographer.
Nature conservation is very close to my heart.
I have served in the Danish military special unit, the Sirius Patrol, for two years and that has given me the skills and confidence to operate alone in the arctic regions.

„I don‘t want to scare animals just to get a photo.“ That‘s the quintessence of the philosophy of a true nature lover and inspirational photographer. Thank you, Morten, you‘re a role model for us.

absolutely true, now he only needs to stop showing us eating animals. killing animals frightens them as well. (and each step in the process of getting animal products). but don't get me wrong, i'm really a big fan of morten and watch most of his videos and love his philosophy and that he doesn't want to disturb their habitat. But eating animals is a way larger threat for ecosystems.

These animals do you not want to scare, because they are very capable to attack and molest you.... That's the reason why you not are supposed to get too close to them.

Morten, this series was incredible. Thanks so much for doing it. I’ll never see that part of the world, at least not the intense way you did. I’m very appreciative of all the extra work you put in to film all that *by yourself*! I just watched it in my living room in front of my fireplace, and had to laugh at your “pathetic human” comment. It’s clear which of the two of us is the pathetic human, and it ain’t you! 😀👍

Thanks for speaking also about wildlife photography ethics. With wildlife photography gaining on popularity (also because of great KZfaq videos) there is an increased risk of unnecessary wildlife disturbance by photographers. It so nice that you talk about this topics as there are many photographers looking up to you.

Okay… I have to say a few things; First thing is that it really does make my day when I get a notification to say that Morten has uploaded a new video, absolute bliss! Secondly, I just want to show my appreciation for the amount of effort it requires to film, vlog and take incredible images in those conditions. A few weeks ago I came back from the snow covered cold mountains in Scotland, it was hard enough getting through the snow on the mountains let alone dealing with camera set up. I’m not into vlogs myself, but it did run through my mind that I could record what I was experiencing whilst I was there, but the weather really did bite hard and I bottled it! Morten, full respect to you for what you do and how you achieve it 🙌

Thank you very much for a beautiful report from this trip. Musk oxen are beautiful animals, peaceful. I really like your respect for nature and your distance to animals (for their peace of mind). A beautiful relationship, a beautiful experience in this difficult winter climate. Very good photo session: musk oxen in beautiful warm colors - sunset. Thanks to this report, I can get to know the charms of winter Norway and its nature. Greetings.
