I really miss Billy. He was living Jazz history and a very caring, involved man who loved the music, the people who played it and the audience, as well.

THANK YOU, Mr. Jazz Video Guy! Your work is truly appreciated. A few years ago, we had to complete a research paper on a jazz artist. I chose Dr. Billy Taylor. My favorite jazz pianist. Your channel has been an excellent resource and is a treasure trove of good stuff. I thank God for your contributions and hard work!

Talked with Dr. Taylor at WV Wesleyan College after a workshop in the late 1970s. I said, "How do you reach those notes with your left hand, for example middle C to Bb?" Taylor spread out his hand and said: "put your hand against mine". My fingers were just as long, he said, "just keep gently stretching that left hand thru playing".
