Welcome to my channel!
In this tutorial, I’ll take you through some polymer clay basics - conditioning, color mixing, curing, storage - as we create simple beads from one of the most basic canes - The Bullseye. This bead happens to be on of my faves and with the addition of a few simple techniques and a few simple canes turns into what I called my Big Beads.
If you’r knew to polymer clay, perhaps this tutorial may answer some questions and offer some encouragement to begin. You see, if you take it all step by step, you’ll soon find yourself diving in and making polymer clay a part of your creative life. I hope so!
Enjoy and…
Cheers, D

Wow! This was a very informative session. Learning how to make simple bullseye canes and turn them into beautiful beads was exciting to watch. However, the bonus were the information and tips you shared regarding making making secondary colors, conditioning clay, cane storage and etc... I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos. Soon as my medical issues are resolved, I plan to to enroll in your classes.

What a wonderful video! When you were talking about editing out the “ok’s” I laughed out loud because I too have a thing I try to edit out. When I open my mouth to talk, it makes a little “snap” noise. (I guess it’s spit or whatever.) Its SO hard to edit out that split-second sound but I always try. TMI? 😅

This was really good to watch and even just as a review. As a linguist I gotta let you know there’s nothing wrong with saying OK all the time. It’s a perfect transition word. I’m always using “so”. Even as an intro to a little video. These words are useful and very innocuous, which means no one notices how much you say it.

I love these beads! 🥰 I love your cane collection. 😊As for the origin of lint. I am very convinced there are gnomes that sneak in and sift it like powdered sugar on a cupcake.😂 They are related to door ding gnomes, and the ones that steal random socks. 😋😂😉

This was an absolutely amazing video!! Thank you so much for taking the time to make it, I hope you come out with some other videos like this. I really enjoy putting you on and caning with you. Honestly its just fun watching and listening to you play around with your canes no pressure to try to make it educational. I really struggle with getting started, but once I start I don't want to stop. I used to watch turtlesoupbeads to get motivated with opening up my clay packs. I'm so glad I found you!

As always, Another beautiful and informative tutorial. Thank you Mrs Donna for sharing. I love those purple and magenta colors, so beautiful. A query: We use a Conditioning Bar to soften an old and hard clay which is brittle and crumble. What about an old Conditioning Bar?? Though its purpose is to soften hard clays, a Conditioning Bar is a clay as well. If it's an old one, doesn't it get hard as well? 😊 Thanks a lot ♥️
@DonnaKatoArt
@DonnaKatoArt 4 ай бұрын
Annita, it's so soft, I can't imagine it getting hard but I guess it could happen. If it did, it'd be pretty easy to restore to its soft state, though. Cheers, D

Hi! You know, my worksurface isn't marble, it's a tile. I would say, tile, marble, glass, formica, work beautifully. If your clay is soft and sticky, a cool surface is better! Cheers, D
