The vast majority of fans of these franchises (according my own and other's polls) have long since grown up. I myself was born in 1997, and my videos have always been made with the intention of reaching a similar age group of people. Watching this makes me super nostalgic with Generation 4 Toys. I remember when was younger and walking past the toy area and seeing all the pony and being drawn into by the colours but kept pushing myself back from it since it was a “Girls Toy”. Sometime I wish time travel was real.

For the first few months I wanted to buy some but was worried people would think I was “too old” for it (even though I was only 15!🤣) The good news is you can always try to track down releases you want online! @@OkamiGirl647 years ago, when I was 10-11 years old, I thought I was old for such things because I looked older than I was and it discouraged me from buying them because I felt bad looking at them on the shelf in the store and I was afraid of what other people would think when they saw such an overgrown girl with a toy, especially since strangers always called me Mrs. and not in a typical child's way, so I no longer felt like one of them. I don't know if you will understand what I mean because the word "Mrs. " in English does not have such a strong meaning? I don't know how to describe it, English does not have such an extensive polite vocabulary and depending on the person you are talking to, you use different vocabulary. And it greatly influenced the way I perceived myself. Currently, I still have a problem with this, so I fulfill my childhood dreams by buying toys online, but unfortunately not for play, but more for collecting purposes. I kind of regret that in my childhood I had almost no g4 ponies except four, two of which I got from a friend.

Notice how Fluttershy's colors are a lot more pastel and lighter than normal! I absolutly loved this season finale and the toy line!

If you think about the toyline and show the other way round, Chrysalis not being a toy makes sense. Hasbro doesn't look at the show and say: "We're going to make these ponies from the wedding episodes." They design the toys first and tell the show people, "Put a wedding in the show, it has to have these characters." Hasbro then leaves it to the show people to build the plot around the characters / playsets. The show people invented Chrysalis because they wanted to have a villain to make the wedding episode exciting--the same way they invented other antagonists, like Gilda. Hasbro didn't _decide_ not to make Chrysalis; more like, their toyline was already finalized by the time she was created.

yeah like mlp's always gone by that model, like it would've been cool for g1 to have like dolls of the witches from the volcano of gloom or something but like they were a plot device at the end of the day

Something that I find interesting is that in either late 2020 or early 2021, long after this toy line, they released the Friendship Castle which is the same exact model and has the same exact colors as the Wedding Castle, but just with different stickers. It came with Twilight and Pinkie Pie in a design similar to Pony Life, but not exact.

I have almost the whole line, this has to be definitely my favorite. The whole aesthetic and colors were always my favorite. I remember getting the wedding castle at pony con 2016. Again I love this line so much!! Thank you for making this video I loved it so much!

Twilight's treasure chest at 2:57 originally came with Rarity . . . G3 Rarity, that is! I knew it had to be G3 as soon as I saw the big heart for the magnet, lol.

I remember as a kid wanting the talking Nightmare Moon toy and wishing a Chrysalises toy. Hasbro didn’t understand that people within their perceived demographic didn’t always want just girly.

This is my first time seeing the prototype images of the wedding castle and I must say the first design of the castle is very intricate and I absolutely love it! The original flower fillies are also really intriguing for me due to them being so ambiguous...maybe they were changelings? Lol Although it would’ve been nice/made sense to see some actual changelings/Chrysalis featured in this line, I will admit they would clash with the aesthetic all too much 😅 glad they finally got their own eventual releases though! Looking forward to more retrospectives!

Yes I agree it may have lead to a bit of clash which is why I think it really needed a second follow up line (in my opinion I don’t think we needed both a crystal empire and crystal princess celebration line for example and It would have been better to have a second royal wedding line instead). This whole line is definitely super interesting to me though! I’m glad you liked the video!!

i loved this line so much, brings back a lot of nostalgia because i think the fluttershy deluxe one was actually the first pony i got and i fell in love with it! oh and i also remember getting the cutie mark crusader flower girls for christmas and being overjoyed

This was such a great video! It’s honestly a shame to think though that they only made cadence to sell toys, I’m glad the fandom mostly like her but that thought just makes me sad :,) Also I don’t get why they had to make her that dark pink in the toys, she was already pink in the show (a more appealing pink than what they picked for the toy) so that choice was quite questionable.

The funny thing about the wedding storyline was that it came out at a time when I wasn't into mlp. At age 11 or so, the only three episodes I saw of the show at the time (we didn't have the Hub, so I watched these elsewhere) were The Best Night Ever and the Return of Harmony two parter. I didn't really want to watch a show where all the ponies were mean to each other and/or acting insane. Eleven year old me, sort of just rolled my eyes at the whole pony wedding phenomenon. What's really ironic however, is that at age 14, after getting constant yt recommendations for mlp clips and Bride of Discord episodes, I decided to bite the bullet and see what the fuss was about. The first clip I watched was "Sunshine, Sunshine, Ladybugs Awake". That lead to me watching A Canterlot Wedding and getting hooked. So in a way, it's kinda responsible for me becoming a Brony, which has influenced my life in many positive ways.

I remember when i was a little kid i asked my parents for princess celestia and they gave me the talking princess cadance and when i told them that wasn't celestia they tried to gaslight me into believing that it was "pink celestia" 😭 I was disappointed for a moment but ended up loving her regardless, and now i get nostalgic every time i see that toy

I have watched the “Ticket Master” DVD that came with the pony figure. 12 year old me would play it constantly on my box TV. Probably the reason why that’s my favorite episode in Season 1.

As someone who used to play with these things when I was a little kid and now likes to "critically" look back at them, it's really cool to see someone else doing something similar. Can't even begin to say how much I love this line! Your video is amazing and the MLP team was really creative with what they had, even if Hasbro cut a ton of amazing stuff, this line probably holds up as my fav G4 line!

My niece had this castle, she was so happy when she received it ☺ it was displayed in hers room for many years, she's now 12 and no longer play at all, it makes me so nostalgic 😭

I really wished they had released a set with Crysalis and a changeling and maybe even a couple changeling single packs so you could get a little army of them. Little me would have killed for somthing like that. But other than that I remember absolutley loving this line!

My first brushables we're the wedding singles applejack and twilight, my cousin had the pinkie pie one, we got them on the same day and played alot. I still have the little invitation and flower vase. A cute memory of Mine :)

I have a TON of the royal wedding toys still. They easily make up a quarter of my collection. Honestly, it had been so long since i got them that I didn't even know that's where they were from. Of course I knew that my talking Cadance was, but a lot of my mane six figures are too apparently!

Oh my goodness I had that set! I still have shining armor and his outfit, and candance (missing a wing) bare, I don’t have any of the castle though anymore but maybe a few accessories. I also have a purple piano from MLP maybe related somehow. I even had the train set! Edit: I looked to see if my cadence had gradient wings but both of her wings were broken off!

When I was younger I had the Luna doll - I never knew that doll was correlated to the wedding! I just thought it was a Luna doll - Heck I didn't know there was a Celestia counterpart! Luna stayed on my shelf with her crown, shoes and dress and I always kept her mane and tail smooth, I even washed it with my own shampoo and conditioner.

I remember having this set and also the train set!!! I loved it a lot, tho I still very much like the gen 3 toys as well. Sadly I don't even have them anymore because my dad threw them out because I grew up and wasn't playing as much anymore during that time. I would have loved to keep them just as mementos of childhood and such :(

I absolutely loved the castle and all the wedding-themed ponies, but what surprises me the most is the Cadence with graident wings. I remember disliking her a bit because I thought it was a painting error, but turns out it's pretty rare ahah

I started liking MLP during that time as a kid. The Twilight with the little flower pot was my first MLP toy ever and I remember that I always took her with me when I watched the episodes on youtube. I didnt understand a single word because it was in English (I am German) and I couldnt watch it in my language, but I still enjoyed it, I rewatched the wedding episodes a lot haha

OMG I REMEMBER MY SISTER GOT THE PALACE WEDDING PLAYSET!!! I was actively into the canterlot wedding at the time and I would borrow her ponies a lot :,) currently my sister still has cadance, and I think shining armor is hiding somewhere around here….

I loved this line however I had a hard time finding alot of them in the UK they weren't available in many shops in my area. I brought Sunny Ray's, Trixie and Cherry Berry they had Lyra but I didn't quite have enough for her at the time due to still being a college student without a job so I thought I'll just get her next time but they weren't there everytime I went in after. I loved the deluxe sets too I got the Rarity one because she's my favourite plus I liked that it was a more unique pose. I loved that they had more non mane six characters released. The later lines barely did this mostly just had recolours of the mane six.

Oh my god I think I actually owned the ticket master dvd from the toys! I remember having a dvd that looked exactly liked the ticket master one included with one of the toys as a kid. I don’t remember which pony I got, my memory is sometimes foggy. I remember it only had that one episode, so I’m assuming its the same one. What a great throwback 😂

I actually had the Rarity mini DVD one I was in an abusive home as a foster kid then so I never got to watch the show so I was able to sneak and watch the little DVD on my ps2.

sometimes i think it’s very weird how show was intended to promote the toys, but the toys were bad and sometimed barely playable. i’m not talking about rainbow dash having a wrong mane colors or something, it’s just about that girls like to make scenarios where pony sleep, eat, work or date. and we have, like, one bed for the whole toy series (applejack & star dreams set). i could think of many good playable sets (for example, applejack with a function of bucking to make her collect apples and make a pie in the oven or sth, race cloud track with rings or sth for rainbow dash to come through and win a prize, etc). we have only one brushable colt for the entire g4 toy series (not counting the remodelled lines where they finally include soarin, big mac and someone green). i thought little girls would love to make scenes where ponies fall in love with each other? also, i agree, it’s weird that they haven‘t included any evil characters. like, ever. i think it could have been fun to have shining armor (and maybe even some guards) to defeat chrysalis or sth like that. oh, if only i was making mlp toys. post scriptum. about the barely playable toys it‘s mostly about big talking ponies. i saw many reviews saying that girls quickly got bored and abandoned these expensive toys just because it was only 1 big pony that had no friends or potential play scenarios.

I did watch the dvd in these toys XD but it's cause i'm not north american and when these toys with dvd episodes released the show wasnt broadcasted here yet, I still have it in my collection to this day cause it contains a different dub than that of the local Discovery Kids broadcast :D
