Friends, we are honored to present the Josephine Ardery Distinguished Lecture Series "A Portrait of Black Religious Life in Henry County, Kentucky".
Seminary professors The Rev. Dr. Laura Levens and The Rev. Dr. John Inscore-Essick will present insights gained from their extensive ethnographic research into black religious life in Henry County, Kentucky.
You will be introduced to the congregations they studied and challenged to reconsider commonly-held notions about rural religious life.
The Rev. Dr. John Inscore-Essick, a long-time friend of The Berry Center, is an Associate Professor of Church History and Director of the Rural Ministry Program at Baptist Seminary of Kentucky and co-pastor of Port Royal Baptist Church in Henry County, Kentucky. The Rev. Dr. Laura Levens is an Assistant Professor of Christian Mission at Baptist Seminary of Kentucky.
