Osmo Door-Oil is a unique oil and wax combination designed to protect interior veneered wooden doors. The unique formulation penetrates the wood surface which remains microporous and whilst the finish will not crack, peel, flake or blister. The surface also becomes healthy and elastic, and the wood's fibres are prevented from becoming dry and brittle over time as well as shrinking and swelling.
The wood's true beauty is accomplished by using Osmo Door-Oil. The emphasis on the wood's grain and natural characteristics provides a warm and rich effect to ensure that any interior room looks luxurious and elegant. Each wood has its own style and unique charm, and is seductive from the first sight.

If it's not been coated before you could very lightly rub down with a sanding pad first...then apply a coat of osmo oil... after the first coat is dry the grain will raise... in other words it will feel rough.. then lightly rub down again until nice and smooth and apply a 2nd finishing coat... I will find a link for a sanding pad

@1970alexays

A brush is much quicker - the oil will otherwise soak into the cloth.

Both are fine... you could sand very lightly at first but you will definitely need to sand after the first coat has dried as it will lift the grain

Thanks very much for your prompt reply Barry...was expecting to wait weeks! When you say 'rub down lightly', do you mean with one of those non abrasive things? Would a non stick scourer do the same thing? Fine wire wool? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I need to do this properly and only once!
@barryma10
