Emily, people probably enjoy more of you doing the laundry/unpacking rather than the actual going on holiday because you inspire them (me included) to do stuff themselves😃 Seriously,though, seeing you cleaning etc is oddly satisfying and gives me so much motivation to do the same in my house , and as someone who leaves the unpacking process for 1h away road trip for several days after said trip I think is somewhat of a progress🤣 love your videos - mom of a two year old expecting my second child❤️

It's so lovely to be reunited with your pets when you come back home - it's like the family is complete again. I do try and be as organised as you are - usually go all out on the first day back home, but there's always bits and pieces floating about for days afterwards! I definately do the unpacking and laundry right-away when I get back home. Because I have cleaned up the whole house before the vacation I want to keep it clean and organized after it as-well so putting everyhting back to where it belongs as fast as possible is important to me. I always have on holiday multiple laundry bags - one for white, one for black, one for red and one for other colors. At home I have similar way four different laundry baskets in our laundry cabinet. In case we have lot of laundry from holiday (especially after longer trips) and I need to do multiple loads of one color then I like to divide the color to smaller loads based on does the clothes go to tubledryer or not - it makes it much easier to push whole load to tubledryer at the same time than starting to think what to put there and what not. Also our tubledryer is usually slower than our laundry mashine so while first load is in tumble dryer I can hang second load on drying rack and when the third load is ready to go to tuble dryer that can be emptied. Unfortunately sound of our washing machine does not work so it does not notify me when it is done so in order me to keep up with the schedule I put alarms to my phone. When packing for holiday I use packing cubes for our clothes and differently sized bags for our shoes, cosmetics, games, books and electronics and same way when coming back home those are easy to empty and put everything to its own place. So I can for exemple take activity bag with me and put all the books from it to the bookshelf and all the games to game cabinet and I do not have to carry one by one each item. I also have spesific drawer only for sunglasses, suncreams and after sun lotions and another for travel sized first aid things, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, thoot pastes, traveling related medicine, spare thootbrushes, deodorants, masks, sanitizing whipes, hand sanitizers and zip lock bags. Those two drawers make it super easy to both pack for holiday and unpack after it. Thank you Emily for a nice relaxing but still motivating video! I also must say that seeing you managing all the cooking in your temporarily kitchen makes me much more relaxed about our kitchen renevation which will start soon. Greetings from Finland!

Long life milk and oven bread are handy to get and keep in the cupboard for whenever you come home from holiday or just a weekend away. Remember that cheese freezes and casseroles etc can be brought out of the freezer for that first meal homex

The clothes folder is a real game changer, I bought one about 15 years ago. Eveything is so organised and tidy, bit like a shop.....The design is the same which proves it works.

Even if I wash my clothes on holidays I always wash everything when I get home. Maybe I have ocd??? Oh you have a something new for the kids to play with haha mine was the lint machine. My boys kept arguing over. But you never found any lint balls on clothes for awhile before the kids got over playing with it😂 that is such a cool Easter 🐣 platter. I'm with you, we arrive and get all the laundry done and put away. I go grocery shopping. Before we leave I clean the house and pay bills. I feel it takes a day for my brain to snap back to reality.

We always do laundry on vacation, probably because we lobe the laundromat. They are huge and come with Detergent as well and then we toss them in the drier also. we enjoy the holiday smell of laundry.

I definitely unpack and do laundry straight away when I get back. I can't relax otherwise! I love the satisfaction once its all done.

Ok I have been home from my holiday for 3 days now. My bag is still shoved in the corner of my room waiting to be unpacked, this just gave me the motivation I needed to do it, thanks 😂 by the time I have unpacked everyone else’s bags and done all their washing I can’t be bothered doing my own.

We used to be the slow unpacked. We now unpack as soon as we arrive home.

I reccomend doing longer washes than 59 min, specially towels + tea towels at they should go 60+ degrees!

Emily, watching you do all of this… I now know why when I am on vacation I find a laundromat on the last day of our stay and take everything to the laundromat and wash everything. Then, I fold it all and pack it all back into the suitcases. We also bring an extra suitcase for each of the kids and an extra suitcase for each of us (we normally drive and take our small trailer) and any shopping I do for the kids then also gets tried on and washed. I normally do my other half’s clothes and my clothes first then my other half to get all the kids clothes and I start them so as our clothes go into the dryer he lids the kids clothes and then once everything is packed up we go back and drop it all off at the Apartment we rent and then I load all the household stuff and go back and wash it all and put everything back. Even though the apartment (Flat) has a washer and dryer we then wash all the bedding and get it dry that was left on for the night and also all the towels and get it all done within 30 minutes before leaving. Then, the owner has housekeeping come in and with us everything is already clean and trash taken out. Normally they come in and find the dryer running with bath towels, the dishwasher running and a list of everything that has been done and what needs to be done.

I also don't like do laundry on vacation if I don't have to... and I unpack soon I get home, put it away and move on...🤗🤗😀
