I love seeing your videos, Emma. As someone who was bullied in school, I didn’t have a lot of friends and there were times it was just me and my books. I can understand the feeling of loneliness. I hope you are doing okay, you wonderful human ❤

*virtual hug ! I can't stand bullying. It's pretty rare in my country (Senegal, west Africa) but I only had one friend at school because I did not want to deal with other people and their drama. I am embracing being alone more and more as I'm nearing my 30s.

@@LinorMilan I just finished my college and I literally have no friends and I'm kinda lost right now. I've no idea what I'm doing and I've been waiting for exams to be over and everything. But now I don't know what to do. It's kinda getting hard now to be alone and know that you've no one to talk to.

@@ipshitajeeOhh 🥺, it must be very hard indeed. We have so much emotions, feelings, thoughts, it's hard to keep it all inside & have no one to talk to. I felt that ! Please don't despair, that's one thing you should never do, try to be optimistic. Things do get better in cha Allah (God willing), it did for me! Writing was very veeery helpful for me, as well as watching beneficial contents on youtube (Well I am muslim so I watch people like Tim Humble). Also being alone has many benefits, for example it preserves you from many evil (bad company is #1) & many headaches and heartbreak. Before I decided to be by myself, I used to be the popular girl in school, I had TONS of friends, everyone wanted to be around me YET it was the most draining thing ever, you literally live for other people's approval, you try to please everyone, a lot of people are jealous of you and are passive agressive with you, it's not worth it. It's hard but try to enjoy your own company, listen to advice from good people in podcasts for examples (it's like having someone talk to you) And one day إن شاء الله you will get married to a good person إن شاء الله and trust me you will not feel alone. Do you have sisters or brothers you can talk to, hang out with ?

Have you ever thought about maybe starting a blog and posting your uni essays there? I would be very interested in reading that, and you would not feel like your work is wasted :)

Oh emmie, I feel you when you said you didn't made friends at uni. I had one back then, we did all our projects together, but she didn't like the course as I did. Years later my graduation, I became friends with someone who was starting the course and wanted some tips. Nowadays she's the reason that I always remember why I love to study and I love my course. She's almost finishing her course and I'm almost graduating in literature and arts specialization... And it's just the two of us ... Maybe you'll become friends with people the most mysterious way, but this is the magic of life: you'll never known when it'll happen.

Love the desk setup, the vlog, the chat, everything. I battle anxiety daily and it’s heartbreaking but also comforting to see others struggling with it too. Lovely video as always Emma ❤ the beginning part made me tear up a bit because it was so relatable! As an English major now graduated, having to move online halfway through my degree and go back home to a different place made the whole experience so lonely, especially as I felt so isolated from my other English majors. It also made me overly attached to my work which I’m thankful for and in regret over at the same time. Academia can be exhausting and isolating, so making sure you take time to yourself and for your loved ones is so important! You’ve also made me so excited to read Hamlet, which I hopefully can do once I submit my masters thesis in! All the best to us 💪🏽

The fact that you have a proper chair now (instead of that green, really pretty but visibly inappropriate for long term desk work one) makes me so happy for some reason!! Also Im preparing for the GMAT exam and the sheer panic from it keeps on leaving me paralysed. Your videos give me motivation to study.

Hi Emmie! Thank you for the video ♥️♥️. A tip for the shells and the rocks is to put them in a glass jar or glass bowl or even a pouch (which you can hang somewhere) and this way not only it is easier for Calcifer not to reach but it also looks really beautiful

I relate a lot to the whole being attached to your grades thing. What i did in uni and allowed me a bit of peace of mind was to think that my grades weren't a reflection of me or of my intellectual/creative capacity but entirely contextual, a product of my circumstances. Anyway, just throwing my two cents lol. As always your videos improve my day 💜

Emmie, I’m an English major as well, I’m about to start my masters in theology. Something I plan on changing is hoping to make friends. Whether that is with the online peers or in my community, because it can be quite lonely. I didn’t make any English major friends whose friendships lasted longer than the semesters I studied. I also have a one year old and it’s just me and him. Sometimes I just prefer it to be that way, but perhaps I also need to make some mom friends because socializing is becoming nonexistent 😕. Love watching your videos they’re so therapeutic. 💜🌻

Hi Emma, thanks so much for your vlogs! You are giving me motivation to wrie my paper - and I need this so badly. I also havent been in touch with my Uni mates , and my literary topic is so far from media studies of most of my friends so I feel isolated and it gets really hard to find the reason and strenghts just sit and write all this stuff.
