Dature Miuli, is a Progressive farmer from Roing, under Lower Dibang Valley District of Arunachal Pradesh. Besides being a very successful Tea planter, he also owns large scale Orange and Rubber plantations.
Mr Miuli, during 2017 under the guidance of the State Department of Agriculture and 3F Oil Palm Pvt Ltd- an Oil palm developer and processor company, started a new venture of Oil Palm plantation in an area of 200 hectares at his farm at Rukmo village near Roing town. Currently his plantation spreads across 207 hectare and is known as one of the largest Oil Palm plantation by an individual in India. He is a beneficiary of Govt of India’s scheme ‘National Mission on Oilseeds & Oil Palm (NMOOP)’ being implemented by the State Department of Agriculture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
As his plantation has already attained more than 3 years, harvesting of Oil Palm Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBs) in his plantation has started during 2020. He is expecting to earn good returns from his plantation in coming years.
The State Government has made arrangements for buy-back the harvested produce of Oil Palm from farmers and thereby create a ready market for sell of Oil palm Fresh fruit bunches. This endeavor is one among the progress stories of Oil Palm in Arunachal which is a true symbol of farmers’ determination, sheer dedication of Departmental Officers, officials and partner company- 3F Oil Palm Pvt Ltd.
