Since 1921, God has brought more than 20,000 at-risk youth out of their distress and into the land of promise that is Grundy's Mountain Mission School.

Mountain Mission School functions as a full childcare facility (home, church and school) for children with legitimate needs regardless of the child's race, age, color or creed. We operate as a nonprofit charitable organization, incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
We serve as home, church and school to more than 200 kids in need, coming to us from Appalachia to Africa to Asia. MMS provides first-rate academics, loving family and social support, and a firm commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ. More than 90% of graduates go onto college.

I am pretty sure this is where my Father stayed back in the late twenties or early thirties. He too often roamed the hills as a small child with nowhere to stay. He stayed a while at the mission. He is still alive although in poor health. It was good finding this video.
