This is when you learn phrases and not just individual words. By learning the language is bite-sized chunks, you're able to build your vocabulary quickly and effectively.

The problem with learning vocabulary is when people are socializing with one another, the language is colloquial. From my experience, the only time where you come across vocabulary is from reading a book or news article.

So chunk is a umbrella term for idiomatic expressions, phrases, collocations and all grammatical structures that follow rules.
@InteractiveEng
@InteractiveEng 18 күн бұрын
Yes, chunking would include that. It could also included memorized statements in response to a certain situation. (e.g. Where's the toilet? / I would like... )

Hi Wes, keep up the great work! I have a very big problem and the problem is that I suck at keeping up conversations with people in real life as I usually lack the right words to say or use at that very moment even though I’m a great conversationalist when it comes to texting. In my view, I think the causative factor is that English isn’t my primary language. Please how do I overcome this problem? I look forward to hearing from you soon

It's like collocations that are already set in the language, but, how can I know what words go together in a sentence? Where could I find that?

You can either study collocations or just keep getting exposure, especially when it comes to reading. You will start to recognize the pattern of words. 👍

Islam is a religion that calls to the worship of God, the One, the One, who has no partner, the King, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and the last of God’s messengers to people after the Messenger Jesus, son of Mary, after the Gospel was distorted. Reckoning and resurrection after death and Islam is the religion of tolerance and it is firmly established in the lands that have been conquered because it came with mercy for people and the light Islam and the Qur’an illuminate the heart and the pleasure of eternal happiness that does not end Islam is the religion of God and whoever does not enter Islam will not enter Paradise. You must read the Qur’an to learn what is in it and ask God for guidance The path of truth, and to know that you were not created in vain
