"Lemon" is a slang term for a car that has manufacturing defects--the most common example being the Pinto, a car that had a tendency to burst into flames after even minor collisions. Piston Honda, being named after a car part and a car company, can *technically* be called a lemon without it being about his ethnicity. But, like, it could also be double racist.

to be clear, nintendo didn't actually get in trouble over the sailor moon, it was discovered around launch so any staff involved got axed, Nintendo bought the rights to have the comic in there because it was found too late to undo it.
