This is extremely useful, especially for someone like me who's really bad at deckbuilding, but having a standard process to follow in building my decks might be really useful! Thanks, subscribed cause I'm watching your videos and they are super interesting 👍

This is going to help since I'm rebuilding a deck I had since the original Yugioh. it's a mix of dragons and spellcasters, since I like to kick it old school using Polymerization.

This was exceptionally helpful. I’ve been wholly reliant on finding deck lists because I didn’t know how to build my own. I’m excited to give this a try! Thanks for the tips!

Thanks to this guide, now I see that I have way too little handtraps in my decks to be successful, I put like 4 to none handtraps because I'm so very smart at assessing the strengths of my deck at interrupting the opponent's plays, very eye-opening video, good job sir.

Like other comments have mentioned I think a huge part of deck building is starters vs extenders and how many your deck needs. I think mermail is a really fascinating deck you could use to make examples with due to the sheer amount of different engines the deck has run as various times(frogs, orcrust, marincess, ready fusion, deskbots)

Or, just collect for 20 years (origins being McDonald's Happy Meal Toys). Over 1,000 cards, plenty to choose.

You should have a series where you show how you built the decks for your tier list videos. Basically doing this with every archetype as an example but more in-depth

I wish there were videos that layer out deck building this easily when I was starting out with the game. Do you know how long I ran a Ninja deck with no win condition when I was new? Too long, far far too long.

I think this is superb, im happy with my 60card Blue eyes deck and Gren Maju. But i seen a Cyberstein combo that allows spamming out fusion cards but i dont know what it is, and im struggling to figure out how to beef out a 40card deck around it. So i think watching this vid 4/5 times while sifting through Master Duel sill help

As a follow up video I would recommend teaching people how to use, why to use, and where to find a hypergeometric calculator. To help calculate the odds of drawing specific types if cards.

Wow, this video makes it seem so easy! It's like a checklist to help focus the testing. That's really helpful! I hope this remains a solid go-to video for new and returning players for time to come. The "add engines" step is my favorite. I love nothing more than a solid and reliable meta engine helping power my jank archetypes!

I like the video. Well done. Can you consider share your thoughts about the same topic (guide to deck building), but with another examples? I, for example, want to create a Chess Archfiend deck that summoned quickly "darkbishop Archfiend" AND protect him. I think your video is good for create a deck with an already powerfull archetype, but, I would like to know your input about another type(s) of deck/archetypes. Thank you.
@MonkeyFightTCG

You really have to figure out what makes a deck work. Weaker decks often have very little but they were designed to do something. Chessboard archfiends aren't great but the generic arcfiend support let's you get some summons out so try starting with that. You have to accept that not everything is possible with a deck and figure not what you want to do but what the deck is good at.

I like to also put in my input, I currently have a Demise Ritual deck. Ruin and Demise are a going second Ritual deck, and Ruin only has a effect that let's her attack twice, which on the surface is good, but low attack means she'll have a hard time against most boss monsters, so I chose to cut her out entire. Demise is a field nuke, but has relatively low attack to compensate so you don't want to put him on the board first thing if you went first. His upscaled version also inflicts burn damage on every card destroyed on your opponent's side of the field, and is even free if you only used Ritual Monsters as materials to bring him out, but has a hard once per a turn clause. He also cannot be destroyed by battle, which is nifty, but not good enough to keep him on the board too. So what can help in this instance is to have him be like a side mechanic to complement an archietype that would like to go first with Demise being your going second strategy. Impcantation is brilliant in getting monsters on the board and like to also help get Demise on there with their Archietype Ritual Spell card, one big downside however is as long as a non ritual Impcantation monster is on the field, you are locked out of using any cards in your extra deck. So you can choose to forgo the extra deck and play cards that benefit from not running an extra deck, or have some easy ways to ritual summon other monsters to keep the mentioned materials off the board. Oh, and they also are a hard once per a turn, so it takes some thinking of which one you want to special summon from hand, as you cannot activate their second effect if you special summon them from the deck. Basically what I'm getting at is knowing a deck's restrictions and what can be done is key, and it's no problem if you think you need to try something else or get a different archietype to do what you have does as well but in a different manner. Megaliths could also be used in place of Impcantation for instance, however the deck tends to focus around FTK strartegies as oppose of being a beatdown deck. Looking at what a deck can do is helpful to find out how you can make a deck functional so you can play to their strengths.

Let me save everyone time time: How to deck build, you don't. Decide what deck you want to play, go online abd find a decklist for that deck, spend at most an hour watching a combo video and boom your done, there is no deckbuilding anymore, you copy whatever latest version of the deck someone made for a competition and play it.
