No version will EVER top the RSRRC of Dec. 11, 1968, but it's great to see they pulled this one out of the vault, dusted off a few cobwebs and strange, and gave it another run.

I miss John Entwistle's high pitch on this song.

The Who blew The Stones right off the stage during their Circus show (if the footage is anything to go by). Possibly one of the most exciting Who performances ever in my opinion.

Andy Cooper, I was gonna say that! The Who were Sooooo Fuckin Good that Jagger was Gutted that (Coz The Stones hadn't toured for a few years n were Rusty! Check out Jumpin jack flash No Energy/Lacklustre etc! But Sympathy For The Devil Is Amazing) he Banned the release until the 90's lol 😆 🤣 The Ego Wow! Oh Taj Mahal n The Dirty Mac (which consisted of Lennon Clapton Mitchell n Keef) doing Yer Blues! Cheers I've gone off on One lol

@@eddysandland58 To be fair though, it was nearly 5am by the time they got to the Stones' set -hours behind schedule. And you have to give the Stones credit for inviting the Who and The Dirty Mac to play in the show - risky putting yourself up against The Who almost in their prime, famous for slaying audiences, and then a band made up of pieces of Cream, The Experience, The Beatles and The Stones. Actually, come to think of it, it would have been nice to hear Entwistle on the bass with Dirty Mac [and with Mitch Mitchell]. Keith was good on bass, but...

Zack has been the best fit for drumming in The Who since Keith Moon. This is a fantastic song. YOU MUST see this in Rock and Roll Circus for the best deep cut ever.

The original at the RaRC is my favourite musical performance on KZfaq, Watch it a couple of times a week as it gives me a buzz.

It’s a tribute the awesomeness of Keith Moon that a performance this good still pales in comparison to the R&RC performance. Good as this is, it just doesn’t have that explosive energy of The Who in their prime. Moon and Entwistle are irreplaceable. It’s also a tribute to the awesomeness of Roger and Pete that after losing two irreplaceable band mates, they still make great music.

Funny when it hits that section of “you are forgiven “ the Ox’s high notes are missed and you can see it in Pete’s face .

It always makes me happy to see that there are other people out there, thinking the same exact thing as me ESP on the fa la la la’s after we have a remedy. Those high notes really boosted the song

While the '68 version is probably my favorite live performance of all time, I'm glad that, for Pete and Roger at least, they didn't die before they got old. I enjoyed this.

When Keith died in 78 I thought the Who should have disbanded. I never forgave them for remaining together until Zak took over on drums. Still, Pete, John and Roger should have taken a year off. I didn't consider The Who as The Who without Keith. I still feel like something is missing. But that's life. We lose what we love.
