It’s all in the contract it’s actually pretty hard to find sponsors who are ok with having their sponsor segment at the end of the videos, for most channels it already hard enough to get a decent sponsorship then having to find a company which okay with being at the end of videos is very difficult. it’s not their fault most youtubers want to make a living and it’s not really easy on just ad revenue so they take sponsors who don’t play by their rules.

As silly as it is this movie has one of my greatest pet peeves, characters who are literally underwater in one scene who dry off in less than 10 seconds. Even Frodo apparently finds a Dyson because that was not a wet cat.

The trailer didn't grab me, I only went because I like seeing movies in general. Wasn't even a fan of the original (never saw part 2) but I really enjoyed this movie! It's a drama more than a horror, more about accepting fate and coming to terms with a huge change. After covid it's very relatable. And I'm not a cat person but I'd fight a monster for Frodo.

I loved this movie and agree with Dan a ton that these movies were never about big action movie spectacles but looking at Twitter or Audience RT takes it seems a lot of people expected or wanted that. I was really impressed at how well this film was handled. It's still quiet and scary for most of the runtime, and a character-focussed narrative was absolutely the right way to go. We all know how great Lupita Nyong'o is but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Joseph Quinn's performance: much more excited to see him as Johnny Storm now. Also, I know exactly which "studio mandated jumpscare" you were referring to 🤣

I really loved this movie! The creatures were as scary as ever and it was interesting seeing everything happen in a metropolitan environment rather than in an isolated town. I personally connected very much with Lupita’s character right from the beginning. Without spoiling it too much, I think the film tried to answer the question of “how important would the literal end of the world actually be when in some ways it feels like ‘your own personal world’ was already ending long before the aliens arrived?” Lupita’s journey felt deeply personal to me and really touched me. It made me tear up by the end of the story. We also learn a tiny bit more about the creatures though I think we are overdue for a better understanding of how they originally came to invade the planet. Ultimately, I thought Day One was great and would rank it as my second favorite film in the series (after the first one).

Adding to your great video about how to get people to go back to the movies when you, Dan, said that the audience surrounding you can be a big problem, my wife and I experienced that exact thing on Friday afternoon. We saw a not-busy 4 pm show, but 2 older men sat down in the back row a few seats away from us. And then---these senior citizens, mind, you, not teenagers---were talking and on their fully-lit-up phones for the first 5 minutes of the movie! I saw where it was going and got up to get in their faces and tell them to get off their phones (yes, I AM that guy), but they either didn't understand English (they were Asian) or just didn't care. I'm leaning towards "just didn't care" because who goes to see an English-language movie if they don't speak it? So my wife and I went down several rows to avoid having to hear muttering (I think one of the guys was talking to somebody on his phone) and have those full-on bright lights too. And this after Lupita herself came on before the show started to ask people to not talk and not be on their phones since IT'S A MOVIE ALL ABOUT QUIET AND DARKNESS! Anyway, I would give the flick a soft 3 out of 4 stars, but my wife didn't like it all that much. There IS a huge inconsistency with what those aliens can and can't hear, which I guess was true of the other movies too.

I'm really sad to see negative comments about this movie. To me, it's the highlight of the franchise, but I suppose that's because different people are looking for different things. Personally, I couldn't care less about the aliens - genuinely terrified the next one will be about "alien lore" or "fighting back" (I had the same problem with where the Planet of the Apes franchise seems to be going - please don't bring the humans back yet, they are not the heart of this story!). Who cares where they're from!! Space, I'd assume?? Okay, good for them! I'm happy to see action or horror films, but they have to be driven by a soulful core, which this movie definitely had (and semi-demogorgon motherships probably won't). I thought it was very smart and beautiful to frame the story around Sam, and Lupita Nyong'o, as well as Joseph Quinn, created very sympathetic characters. To me, the draw of this movie was highlighting what society lost along with sound - art, connection, emotional release, etc. I found such moments quite lovely and poignant for a random sci-fi prequel. While watching, I started forming this image of Sam as a representation of the artist that would be considered of little significance to society, while Eric would be the career-driven successful man participating in the machine. However, after the world collapses, he is "reborn" (we first see him emerging out of the water) without a purpose, lost and terrified without a framework to function within. The epic, unkillable magical cat literally guides him to Sam, who's empathy, soulfulness and self-assuredness gives Eric new goals, new strength, moves him from stasis. He dedicates himself to her, eases her pain, and she guides him to new life. My friend and I cried A Lot during this movie (happens often, to be fair), and while the other two are nice 90-minute horror flicks, Day One definitely left a much stronger impression, and I hope it does well, because it could encourage studios to put more trust in freshly hired indie directors. P.S. - so glad they Finally took advantage of ambient sound!

Yeah this was miss for me. Dont get me wrong I like the acting from the main characters but felt like this was a DLC of a blockbuster game. Part 2 had a day one scene as well that i was invested in bc of the family. I get the whole strangers come together thing but the way they came together for me was not good..bc of the cat finding the dude and he followed it to Lupita lol? The cat btw should have been killed in the movie theater when the nurse almost caught it the first time. I figured she was sacrifice herself at the end. So it was alot of just getting to that point. My question though is was she just going to leave the cat and just allow the monsters to get her after getting the pizza if she never met jospeh quinns character or she was going to try to stay alive and find someone to give the cat to bc she was terminal after she got the pizza by herself? The story was something ive seen alot in movies so thats why i think my enjoyment wasn't like with the other 2 movies. Maybe for other people though.

Loved Lupita's character and the whole pizza story, but I did not see any emotional ties between her and the British guy. Her sacrifice was more for herself, I get it, but there should have been a better reason why he was the one she had to save. Maybe it would have been better if she saved the nurse guy. QP 1 &2 is undeniable because its the family tie that is at risk. Tough benchmark to overcome.

There’s more to it than just being well-reviewed. I think people wanted to see movies like these. No one wanted a Furiosa prequel, even if it was actually good in execution. People wanted to see the first day of a Quiet Place, the next steps for Riley’s emotions, and the next Bad Boys chapter. My guess is if Furiosa had been Theron’s character, and a sequel to Fury Road with Max, people would’ve showed up in droves. It’s about making what audiences want.

My friend and I watched the film together last night, and we both have significantly different views on why one loved the movie and the other felt like it lacked (I believe the film lacked). SPOILERS AHEAD... So, the themes of the "A Quiet Place" movies essentially boil down to family. The stories are told in a big world while focusing on a small group. Now, the marketing for this movie is why I think it has gotten mixed reviews as of its release date. This film showcased the FIRST DAY of the new world, and we kind of skip over that (now bear with me). When the aliens arrive, there is a cloud of smoke that fills the streets and surrounds Lupita's character, Sam; this builds tension because Sam doesn't know what is happening; the audience does because we have seen the monsters in previous movies, and it was at this point that I believe the film started to fail for me. During this scene, Sam tries to understand what is happening but cannot see anything. She runs, hides, finds someone staying quiet, sits with them and watches an individual calling out for help in the nearby distance who gets killed by the monsters. She then gets up and runs for her life, and an explosion knocks her back to a wall, and she goes unconscious. The title card reveals the movie's name, and we wake up to everyone understanding that they need to be quiet. What I believe would have been more enjoyable when she was in the cloud of smoke is instead of having an explosion knock her out, have us, the audience, experience the world going quiet with Sam. During a moment when you cannot see anything, we could essentially be in the shoes of the monsters while still following our protagonist, which would be a POV we have never explored (this would have been something new to contribute to the films). During this moment, it's loud and chaotic; with each passing second, the decibels get lower and lower because the monsters attack and destroy anything that makes a sound. This would have been an exciting way to showcase to our character that sounds affect the creatures. It felt cheap that Sam had to be "told" not to speak or make sounds. Day One should have been about the characters adapting to the new setting and how they must learn to survive these new predators that have invaded Earth. While the story of Sam going to get pizza fits the theme of a small story set in a big world that a quiet place is known for, the marketing for this movie did not do that storyline justice. If you go over the trailers, they continue to show us this idea that we will be viewing a story of two unlucky characters who get caught in an unbelievably horrific position, and the whole time thinking, how will they escape? If you are someone like me who has watched the previous movies before seeing this one, you already know the monster's weakness; you know they can't swim, that higher frequency sounds can cause them grief and run away, and that loud noises can trump minor sounds. What I expected to see in this film was these survival tactics being learned by the two main characters. There is a great scene in the film where our two characters, Sam and Eric, are in a tunnel being flowed down by a rapid stream of water, and the monster chases them on the ceiling. Brilliant tension, and I, for a moment, forgot that these monsters couldn't swim. As the water gets higher, the monster is caught in it and unfortunately drowns; right there, our characters learn the monsters cannot swim and must go to a boat on the water to escape. This way of showcasing should have been prominent throughout the entire movie. There is a scene when it starts raining, and this would be interesting because we have yet to see what happens with the monsters when environmental factors are considered. Two characters are out in the streets and come up to this metal roof where the noise of the rain trumps the characters' voices, which are kept at a low volume. Sam suddenly looks up at the roof, becomes really smart, and starts talking (at a low volume), saying their voice won't be heard because the rain would be louder, but all I could think was, how could she possibly know that? We have never been told that. These characters have yet to be shown that this is even remotely possible. Again, to me, it felt cheap. They told the audience instead of show. The first movie did this as well, but they at least showed this effect by having the little boy scream at the top of his lungs at the waterfall and us being positioned so far away that we could barely hear him over the waterfall. For the scene in the rain for Day One, what would have been better was if they had the monsters close by and either one of the characters made a mistake dropping something or pushing something over, making a sound, but the monsters don't notice it because it's drowned out by the rain. This, again, would've been a way to showcase how our characters could have a chance at survival against these creatures. On top of that, learning they could talk while it was raining and decided to go find shelter was the loudest "HUH?" I had ever said out loud in a theatre. Again, I know the story centred around Sam wanting to get pizza as a last wish, but even then, to minimize the potential danger of being killed by the monsters, they should have walked the streets of New York during that weather! Overall, the movie is crafted well with its storyline IF the marketing was better handled to showcase the story they told rather than the one we were expecting. The trailers showed a fast-paced, scary horror, which didn't fit the themes of the past two movies, where characters are going to be put in positions that help us (the audience) learn how the characters of a quiet place 1&2 learn the skills and tactics to survive 400 days after Day One. I was expecting something different, which excited me, but this movie was the same thing we had seen before, with cheap ways of telling us how they survive and not actually showing us. Quick note... The first time my friend and I saw the group of monsters crawling around New York at terrifying speeds was extremely fun! It was a solid movie, but the first two were miles ahead on rating scores because they knew what stories they wanted to tell and what audiences they wanted to attract. 6/10.

I was disappointed. None of the scenes ever seemed to last very long and brought down tension. More moments like being trapped under the car, moments that focus in on unexpected but feasible suspense help bring out realism and more investment. In a movie about blind aliens, the least realistic part was Frodo. I've raised cats all my life and not even a Marine Secret Service Judo-Trained service cat would get half the distance it did in the movie, much less find his way back to owners in complete silence. It's silly, I know, but it constantly took me out of it.

We equate cats and dogs, in the context of films like this one, as small children needing protection. I think it is that simple.

6:13 Animals are better than people. Even cats who are widely accepted to be total assholes, are better than most humans on their best day. I don’t give a shit who or how many people die in this movie. But if I find out that they harm that cat in ANY way, I will be boycotting this movie entirely.

Haven’t watched it yet so I skipped spoiler part of video. Two problems keeping me from watching it in theaters . My problem with part 2 was when they showed the first day. Everyone quickly figured out they had to only be quiet. They were in the middle of a room in plain sight and only keeping quiet. Based on the trailer and the non spoiler review, it looks like the same thing. I would prefer a story of how they figured this out. Second is the cat. I don’t want to see that cat die. But it can only the only survive in two ways. It conveniently only makes noise when it can’t be heard. The monsters are toned down and no longer seconds away from killing you after making a noise. I know it sounds like I’m nitpicking. But I’m one of those people who doesn’t go to movie theaters regularly anymore. I’ll wait to watch it a home. If I’m wrong and I like the movie. I doubt I’ll be disappointed that I didn’t see it in a theater.

Weakest of the 3 for me...felt like there were too many "happenstances" and imo the terror of the alien attack actually undercut lupita's character's journey for closure, didnt mesh well. That being said still a good movie

Best one of the series because the writing actually makes consistent sense. AQP1 is terribly written and its characters have terrible logic. Bring a constantly noisy baby into this world when they can't keep all their kids, who are moreso aware of their situation, alive?! No one should've survived that film and makes AQP2 undeserved, at least following the Abbotts.

I just saw it and the first thing I thought… That cat had better survive this movie and then when Joseph Quinn’s Eric enters the movie, boy did he look a lot like RDJ😅 Anyway, I thought it was a bittersweet story of a terminal ill woman trying to get back to a place that had so much meaning for her and out on her own terms; those final moments of the movie😭…along the way, she meets a man just starting on his own life journey, but now just trying to survive this horrific scenario.

This movie tried too hard to manufacture sympathy and emotion. . It stinks of contrived. And is lackluster writing. On top of that I have a huge issue with movies that don’t acknowledge that “movies” exist. Too many people do stupid stuff just so the movie can “happen”. The “A Quiet Place” franchise hasn’t been able to deliver on anything beyond the “self-sacrifice moment” that the first movie was designed to have. All that said, Lupita did a great job with what was on the page.

I’ve had a soft spot for “Quiet Place” movies because they’ve been character driven movies that just so happened to have monsters. I was afraid this was going to be a big dumb action movie and the last minute review embargo didn’t calm those fears. That said, I knew five minutes in that this was going to be great film. My only complaint is Djimon Hounsou’s cameo role. I HOPE it’s only a setup for a bigger role in the next one (?)

I didnt realize Joseph Quinn was going to be in it. I love Lupita, shes great imo but I'm worried the movie will feel overdone and the idea of the potential Universe building is unbearable. But, if people truly end up liking it I hope they get more if that's ehat they want

Spoilers ahead. I think the first two are amazing, so I was really looking forward to this. However, this one was a massive disappointment. I think the driving force behind part 3 would be to get answers to the aliens' arrival. I mean, we've seen burning stuff in the sky, but what is it. Like my friend said before, seeing how the creatures are, it doesn't feel believable that that pilot space ships, so how did they arrive on Earth? Well, as I see it, we still don't know. There was a scene with something that I think were eggs, but then the creatures ate them... I think. So I don't know what the hell that was. And I think we see a big creature, a king, or queen , or a mother for a few seconds... but that was it...? Weird. The characters are stupid and forgetful. The man decides to risk his life by going out in the city alone to get some medicine for the woman who's already dying and have decided to die already so why make that extremely stupid decision?! The only one I cheered for throughout the entire story was Frodo, the cat. He's magical by the way. Also, not a single scene with the creatures is rememberable. And putting Djimon's character in the story (who was in Part 2) was stupid and borders on false marketing. Honestly, I just wanted the movie to end. It's sad because I was really looking forward to this movie. And it's been a long time since I had this bad of a experience at the movies. Well, you can't like everything. It is what it is.

To answer your question about why Eric went to get medicine for Samira... SPOILERS She was in a massive amount of pain because of her late stage cancer and her fentanyl pain relief patch had come off. He went to get her more patches to ease her suffering. I like that he risked his own life not to save hers, but to relieve the intense pain she was feeling. It was an act of compassion and gratitude because he would not have survived without her. I don't see it as a stupid act in any way. It was a kindness and speaks to the theme of the movie, which saw two strangers surviving through kindness and compassion.
