I don't know why, but I always think that the "Maahi" in this song is talking about the "I" within us... The lines like "Tu.. rulaaye, hansaaye.. bhi tu hi Humsaaye.. har doori sharmaaye" "Tu saath hai, ho din raat hai Parchhaaiyan, batlaaye Tu saath hai, ho din raat hai Saaya sa hai, maahi ve, maahi ve!" "Yeh jeena bhi, na jeena bhi Hai dono ka, tumse hi vaasta" "Aaye mujh tak woh, tumko jo, ho dhoondhta Mere khaamoshiyon mein, hai tu bolta" In all these lines I found that it talks about our own shadow, the shadow which is Me...the shadow which makes us cry when we are harsh on ourselves, the shadow which makes us laugh because we can truly be happy when we laugh from within...the shadow which is the most important friend of our life I really wanna thank the genius lyricist Irshad Kamil and ofcourse Sir A.
