Information about Jerusalem's Old City Armenian Quarter itself will be provided after this announcement. Unfortunately, I have not been able to work as a tour guide because of the war.
Should you wish to support me and my videos please subscribe to my channel and let me guide you through the Holy Land via my videos. In this way, I will be able to continue to do my work of uploading to KZfaq. Upon your request and in return I am very much happy to pray for you at the Western Wall and/or light a candle in your name at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre or anywhere else in the Holy Land of Israel.
Should you have a personal request I will be more than happy to respond and even film it in a personal video.

The Armenian Quarter is one of the four sections within the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. The other Quarters are the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Quarters. The Armenians have the smallest section in the Old City and take up 14% of the total area of the Old City. The Quarter is home to approximately 2,000 people many of whom are connected to the Armenian Apostolic Church. The Armenians have their own distinct language and culture and are ethnically neither Arab nor Jewish.
The Armenians originated from the Armenian Highlands of Asia Minor (in present-day eastern Anatolia). Soon after Jesus’ death, the Armenians were converted to Christianity and ever since then have been making pilgrimages to the Holy Land. Armenian monks arrived in Jerusalem in the 4th century AD. Jerusalem’s Armenian community is considered the oldest living Armenian Diaspora community in the world.
The Armenian compound is enclosed by an inner wall within the Armenian Quarter and includes St. James, a convent, school, churches, and residences. Along the walk from the Jaffa Gate past the Zion Gate and to the Jewish Quarter are many small shops displaying the beautiful hand-painted Armenian pottery which is made locally. Armenian ceramics can be seen adorning many parts of the Old City including the Dome of the Rock and neighborhood street signs.
One of the highlights of the Quarter is the Mardigian Museum of Armenian Art and Culture, which displays illuminated manuscripts and documentation covering the history of the Armenian people. One of the main exhibits is a printing press brought to Jerusalem by the Armenians in the 1830s and used in the St. James Press founded in 1833.
The Armenian Church of St. James
The Armenian Quarter was built around St. James Monastery which is home to the Armenian Apostolic Church’s Jerusalem Patriarchate. The ornate 12th-century church holds a shrine dedicated to St. James, Jesus’ brother. James was beheaded (Acts 12:1-2) and tradition has it that his head remained in Jerusalem’s Armenian church while his body is in Santiago de Compostella in Spain.
Exquisite Armenian ceramics can be seen around the doorways of the church complex and tourists can enter the church courtyard or enter the church daily from 3-3:30 pm. The Armenian Patriarchate’s treasures are publicly displayed once a year on St. James Day.

We’ve been to the Armenian Quarter many, MANY times. But even though as Armenian Americans, i don’t remember seeing some of the places you went. But i do remember the Armenian Khachkar, in fact, i have a “Singing khachkar”. It plays an Armenian song every time the sun hits it. It played songs for us twice a day. But especially a long time atago 12 noon ( allegedly the time Christ died) and for some reason at 4 pm (1600°) I adore Jerusalem but really enjoyed staying in the Armenian Convent.

@@richardvass1462 Excellent thought! Now I will get chills each day at noon. I’m glad you mentioned this. It made me remember as a child, we didn’t speak a single word on Good Friday from 12noon until 4 pm (that was a tradition in Armenian Catholic school). Thanks 🙏🏼

When God scattered the black Israelites into captivity/slavery all over the world, the gentiles came into Jerusalem just as the Bible say. Luke 21:24 “And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” King James Version (KJV Genesis 10 KJV name's the gentiles as Europeans.
