📚 Crikey, what a haul! Folklorish ones look especially interesting. Father Brown stories surprised me when I read them - ostensibly cosy mysteries but riddled with moral philosophy!

That makes me more interested in getting to the Father Brown stories sooner

I read Sarah Waters's "Tipping the velvet" and it was a wild ride, but also very good. The way it's written feels very real. My friend read more of her works and liked "The Fingersmith" most.

Yay, Orpheus Builds a Girl!! We Have Always Lived in the Castle is so good! It's not very scary, it's more unsettling so i think you'll be fine The Crow Garden sounds very interesting. I'm adding that one to my tbr.

Algernon Blackwood is amazing. I recommend the recent Oxford World Classic edition of his short stories. The Wendigo is very disturbing. 😳 And Sarah Waters....Little Friend is a wonderful gothic read.

I love thrillers and am very intrigued by the Folklore stories you showed. I think my fiancé would also love these as he plays DnD and usually dms so he loves folklore and seeing what he can use to help create his campaigns.

📚 what a nice haul! S Jackson’s Castle was not exactly horror to me. Not in the way I think of horror. It does keep you guessing what is actually going on however. There is a movie of Catch 22 which I saw many many years ago and don’t remember much about it except it was a war movie. Never read the book. Can’t wait for your mystery vlog!

That's interesting about We Have Always Lived in the Castle, I find that classic horror tends to be more atmospheric than scary, which definitely works for me 😅 I hope you enjoy the mystery vlog, I have just finished filming it!

Wow what a book haul! Some fantastic books! I am reading The virgin suicides but I am not really connecting with it and I’m finding it a bit of a chore. I have heard the wager is a good book. So many good books, you have your own library. 😂 Happy belated birthday. 🥳🎂 📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚

oo I'm intrigued to hear your thoughts on Yona. AClockworkReader recs it a lot and I tend to have the same taste as her, but I'm not sure if that one will be up my alley. ooo the Tainted Cup sounds so good! I'm reading Foundryside by the same author this month. If I like it, definitely grabbing Tainted Cup! If you like asylum stories, have you read The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore? Highly recommend! 📚
