It may not be a kit car but I would put money on it being a clone. Why else would Sbarro have his name on it?01:23. He was the legendary ex Scuderia Fillipinetti mechanic who cloned several famous GT40's and built them using chassis plates of written off cars to such a degree that there are at least 2 instances of famous GT40s running around with the same ID. And he's done it to other cars too. Some owners sent their chassis to him for repairs and he would clone it without their knowledge. These cars are worth millions and he has been to court more than once. Don't get me wrong, his work is exemplary but he has the ethics of a stoat. That looks like a genuine Lola build plate so why the Sbarro ID?

He's kinda right. Sbarros' name on that plate means IT IS a replica. Just keep in mind it was a LEGAL one. They were offered publicly, made to order, with vin plates FROM Lola, because Sbarro payed a licensing fee to build them. Tis why Lola never sued... But yeah, 1:23, you ARE right... It's a replica, alright

1969 LOLA is a " VERY EXPENSIVE ROCKET " .LOU I am positive that you will never ever see that VERY EXPENSIVE ROCKET in the streets of CAIRO OR ALEXANDRIA. Good job Lou. These T-70 Lolas were legendary for winning races. The most famous one I think being the dark blue one w/Sunoco sponsorship. This one is remarkable for being aparently never raced as it was initially built for the street. A rarity times two!!!.

I don't know why all production car dashes don't look just like that. Aluminum panels, stainless toggles and VDO gauges. Simple and effective.

There were a few glimpses of a light yellow T70 in McQueen's Le Mans movie ' and Iv'e seen the same car in footage of the 1970 season' does anyone know who's car that was?.

@@loucostabile thank's. The car I refer to ( in the le mans movie) is the one that spins around on a straight bit of wet road ' actually the spinout looked a bit deliberate' as did mc Queen's porche when it hit the armco railing' Le Mans is a great movie though' iv'e probably watched more than a hundred times.

The SBARRO T70 is a KNOWN, Swiss made REPLICA of the T70 Lola... Sorry guys, not the real thing... All the other plates are correct because Sbarro Switzerland held a license to produce them...

In the 70s I saw a lot of Lola kit cars and even as a 7 year old I regarded the cars as ugly and tacky especially the shape. Cars like the Dukes of Hazzard and Smokey and the Bandit were the kind of cars that looked the part of what they were built for. The Lola body style look like a garbage Hot Wheel cartoon car. My opinion at 7 and my opinion now at 48. I don't think that any V8 firing order exhaust sound sounds the way that this car looks it would take a V12 firing order to justify this car's looks. This car's design looks like it was rendered by an alcoholic Italian who drank his own Race Fuel! Just looks like a high-quality kit car at best and I bet it's just as bad of a rattle-box built over a go-kart
