When judges are dreaming about the lucrative offers than can come after retirement ,and shamelessly accept them ,they are undoubtedly making compromises and surrender integrity while in chair...; The fascist ideologists who are increasing in number in judiciary who are making bizarre judgements and observations ,it is a relief to see at least one is left to remind the judicial fraternity what the role of judiciary is in a diverse democratic country like India..Thank you Sir,@Dushyant Dave

Fantastic lecture. I really feel sad when I see some people are arrested on apparent flimsy grounds, they don’t get bail for Months or in some cases years. When it comes Arnab Goswami judiciary finds time overnight and quotes human rights violations. Very ironic status we are in. As Mr. Dave said Judiciary should stand up and fight

A fine speech. Deserves to be printed for records and insertion in syllabuses not only at law schools, but be a part of essential reads for all classes from 9th to terminal degrees. This needs to be read again and again so we do not forget that law is the glue that holds the order of any society, a contaminated glue a diluted glue will never hold order in any society

Truly a man with conviction and courage but understand his commitment is more than anything else. I stand baffled when I hear everything in my mind articulated so nicely without mincing words and pointed references. Hats off for that wonderful delivery, which I hope the Chief Justice will keep in mind while adjudicating the constitutional case under hearing for the Maharashtra crisis. Judiciary’s role is not to question govt policy. Their job is to uphold the law of the land and ensure that people of India have a right to challenge injustice. As rightly pointed out Judiciary has had full autonomy for decades and if it is in such a bad situation today as per Mr Dave, then they have no one else to blame. Frankly, most of these judges talk about big issues but they failed to take care of smaller issues that normal people face. Cases running for decades even after 100s of hearings is so common that people accept it now. Along with shoddy work by police, the conviction rates are so low. I humbly suggest these powerful judiciary to consider ground level issues as well rather than only intellectual discussion about their role compared to the Executive‘s role.

Constrained to say that in three cases with different issues clubbed together and on the last date of hearing the Hon’ble bench asked me to sit for a while assuring that full opportunity of hearing will be allowed. After hearing the government counsel hardly for a minute, when I stood up for my arguments in three cases, I was told by the Hon’ble bench saying “ Ho Gaya” when reminded that there are three cases with different issues, once again I was told “Ho Gaya” even though as committed in the beginning that full opportunity will be given. Highly disappointing situation I faced and that issue is haunting me 24/7 and not forgetting, it being miscarriage of justice. Very unfortunate situation at the highest court of judiciary faced 7 years back . Similar kind of situation in some other cases also making us suffer and making us to think over as to what is going on in our country. Inspire of that being an advocate we have to feel proud of our judiciary even though in my personal cases Even after more than 30 years still carrying the burden of miscarriage of justice. The problem is the things are taken casually and not seriously.

My highest regards to you as you have rightly exposed authoritative/dictatorial meddling of the Executive in the Judiciary or in other matters It's not understood how a government servant is elected directly as a foreign minister when there were so many competently elected public representatives in the parliament. If they couldn't find one then why waste public money on elections to elect MPs. Instead elect ministers directly from staff of government departments.... During his tenure as foreign minister a lot of untoward international opinions have erupted against Modi's government's policies n sovereignty of the country and its citizens... 😠

If this country wants to be among the super powers of the world it needs to fight corruption first. To fight corruption one needs a strong judiciary system and the belief of it's citizen in the system. But that is something we are far from achieving as far as Neptune is from the sun. Not forgetting to remind the judiciary of authority that its the people of the country that has to be satisfied: like a mother to a child that's given food to survive, so shall the appointed Honorable Judge chosen by its citizens need to give his expertise judgement to the homes of our people ( Growth of our country begins from homes the birth place of every child who given a chance becomes a good father for the nation. Genuine citizens of our country go to court because the need help , it should not be the other way round. For one man Judge with the whole jury's wise truthful intervention can pass the law keeping in mind it would first be for the people but not for ones selective personal choosing. "I for one and one for all".

With all respect to the competence of Chief Justice Muralidhar, it is quite horrendous to hear a senior lawyer like Mr. Dave saying Chief Justice Muralidhar is unable to get a "Good High Court". How do you classify High Courts into 'good ones' and 'not-so-good ones'? On what basis you think Orissa High Court is not good for CJ Muralidhar? I along with many other Odia people would have seconded Mr. Dave that CJ Muralidhar deserves to be at the Apex Court, but it's utterly disappointing to learn his perceptions about Odisha and Orissa High Court. I sincerely hope Mr. Dave regrets the way he took the name of 'Odisha' while expressing his opinion. It's high-time for the elites to restore their regards for States like Odisha and High Courts like Orissa High Court!

Thanks for your good message, we have also received good judgement by hon'ble judges 2015 LIC EMPLOYEES CASE, for 4300 employees life, But LIC management not yet executed, only 256 employees thereafter around 100 employees appointed under new appointment not absorption, till date this judgement not implement ed, Now it is under the control of Verification committee, By the order of Supreme court, Most of the employees are died, So how long it'll continue, Delayed justice is denied justice.

Excellent exposition of the conditions prevalent in our country for both the Judiciary and the masses..and the high handed ness of the Executive on the Judiciary. Mr Dave has brought up so many weaknesses in the country, where the minorities suffer silently while the courts, and the magistrates and the judges don’t do any justice for them. With this powerful, eye-opening speech, Mr Dave has excellently explained the current state of judiciary at every level, and its consequences being faced by the country. Now the question is: is the judiciary listening? Is the judiciary willing to take the interests of the common people into consideration rather than in most cases of those in power? And above all, are we the people ready to stand up to protect the judiciary and its independence from the onslaught of the political power of whichever hue it might be?

They are appointing theselves under collegium system now giving chance to know one how they are selecting, appointing and even transferring. If any thing found wrong the fault lies in the very system they are following I e collegium system which they are reluctant make transparent and behaving typical dictatorial power. As this man and Lutyens hate present government they oppposed changes completely and supported the very system they oppose but wailing like this. There should be fixed time to hear and adjudicate after which next higher court listens the case upto SC and including SC. They never think of such things. They have time everyone to finish work not for them.
