Stephen Sakellarios is an independent film maker, author and researcher who graduated from Florida State University with a master's degree in Counseling and Human Systems. He wrote, directed and produced the documentary "In Another Life: Reincarnation in America", which was released in 2003 and got accepted for distribution to universities by Films Media Group. The docu piece portrays several individuals sharing their past life experiences.
Mr. Sakellarios then followed a hint gleaned from a psychic reading, that he might be the reincarnation of a female writer on the West Coast of the U.S. in the 1930's; only to recognize himself in the eyes of a portrait of writer, poet, political activist and human and animal rights proponent Matthew Franklin Whittier, who lived and worked on the U.S. East Coast in the 19th century.
Although there is indeed a marked physical resemblance, Stephen was most deeply struck by the eyes in the portrait, which he felt were his own. He then set out on a rigoros scientific investigation to verify his subjective impressions and reactions by exploring the deep historical record. In this eleven-year project, he has documented his quest in several books, a website and a blog.
Mr. Sakellarios' works can be found on major digital publishing stores, like e.g. Amazon or Goodreads, and his documentary is listed on imdb.com
He is based in Portland, Maine, from where he continues to dig into the deeper historical records of MFW and continues to research the realm of past life memories and reincarnation. You can find his blog at ial.goldthread.com

Trying to make this short. My Dad passed in 2016 at the age of 76. He was the must curious and interesting person I've ever met. He was a very successful businessman who was born in a dirt floor, one room, stone cottage in 1939 Alabama. They moved to Georgia when he was an infant. Later in life, this subject was very interesting to him. As an adolescent, he and some friends formed a "club," in which they investigated this subject. He and 6 friends began learning hypnosis and would often practice on each other. One of the friends was hypnotized one evening and they always recorded the session with an old tape recorder. I heard the tape on 1969. The tape eventually disintegrated over time, but the fellow who was hypnotized detailed his previous life as a Portuguese sailor. Problem was, he described it in Portuguese. This South Georgia farm boy was speaking in Portuguese. My Dad and his friends thought he was speaking in "sloppy Spanish." They contacted a Spanish teacher who explained that it was Portuguese and the teacher sent it to her friend, an educator at the University of Georgia. The translation described this sailor and where he lived and when. Some period of time passed and the educator was successful in locating the town in Portugal where the sailor claimed was his home. The Catholic Priest, in that town, assisted them in trying to verify the sailor's life. They did not tell the Priest about the hypnosis claim, but that they were tracing their family roots. The Priest provided the information they sought. The sailor had apparently died in old age and was buried in the Parish graveyard. They eventually received a black and white photo of the gravesite with the tiny headstone. I don't know what happened to the photo. But as I go through my Dad's possessions I hope to rediscover it.

Hows this one, went to a book fair and saw an antique book from my child hood, The heroes and the water babies, so I bought it without looking and put it away for my birthday which was in three days and intended giving it to myself as a present, an old long lost friend, on the day I opened it and inside was a hand written note from 1921 saying this was a birthday gift with the same day and month as my birthday the 27\3 and addressed to a woman, out of curiosity I traced the woman and found she died a few months before I was born, freaky stuff, I have witnesses and the book and note and can corroborate every word.. that was am amazing thing to happen I think....

As an Indian talking about reincarnation is like a part and parcel of everyday life. It is a common knowledge to us Hindus that, this isn't the end of it all, this body isn't sinful- it's a part of the things we mortals comprehend as God, and no divinity can be so cruel as to shove you into hell for an eternity no matter the crime- she'll give you another chance, and more chances till you attain what we call as Moksha or freedom from the cycle of birth and death.

Many people who die tragically can have dreams of that lifetime. I was raised strict Catholic and knew nothing about reincarnation and had a dream of being a male pilot that was killed in Pearl Harbor. After the dream I had memories that I instantly knew about the man who was killed. I gave my son the information I remembered. He located the pilot and what I told him totally fit.

🐟 09. REINCARNATION (OR NOT): There is NOTHING about the individual person (that is, the “ego”, as defined in the following chapter) which transfers to another body after death, except, perhaps, habitual tendencies in the form of indelible mental impressions (“vāsanā”, in Sanskrit). For example, in my present incarnation, I have a strong affinity for the culture of Bhārata (India), a highly-advanced intellectual capacity, a very slim body, and an attraction to a frugivorous diet. That suggests there was an Indian spiritual master in the previous century which had some (or perhaps, even all) of these characteristics, but it was not “ME”, since what I am now is this ever-mutable Australian-born Aryan gentleman. These “subtle mind impressions” are known in psychology as the “collective unconscious”, in new-age spirituality as the “akashic records”, and in Islam as the “Preserved Tablet”. There is an abundance of evidence that humans are born with certain psycho-emotive links to previous persons, times and places. It is far beyond the purview of this document to list such evidences. As mentioned, in my case, I have an EXTREMELY strong association with all things Indian, despite not being of Indian origin, and the “collective unconscious” hypothesis seems to be the best explanation for this bond currently available, in my opinion (although the term “collective conscious” would, perhaps, be more accurate). For the popular view of reincarnation to be plausible, there would need to be an entity or an OBJECT called a “soul” (“jīva” or “ātman”, in Sanskrit), which somehow finds a copulating couple, then enters the woman’s uterus, to inhabit a zygote. Assuming the existence of an individual spiritual soul is profoundly illogical, because spirit is (by most definitions) the antithesis of finite matter. Therefore, how can an immaterial “soul” be confined to a single person’s body? It seems rather strange to believe that the universe was organized naturalistically in such a manner as to recycle an object called a “soul”, or even to recycle minds, particularly when one understands that a mind is naught but a series of flickering thoughts, feelings, and memories. Some believe that the “thing” which transfers to the next incarnation are the remnants of one's actions (“vāsanā” or “saṃskāra”, in Sanskrit) or at least one's psychological disposition (likes, dislikes, phobias, etcetera). This is far closer to the idea of the collective unconscious, and even if it is a perfectly accurate account of what occurs after death, it still cannot give substance to the notion of a SEPARATE individual which is travelling from one body to another and again to another (“saṃsāra”, in Sanskrit). According to the law of conservation of energy, first proposed and tested by Émilie du Châtelet, energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it can only be transformed or transferred from one form to another. Both this law, and Dr. Leonard Susskind's minus-first law of physics, states that energy/information is indestructible. The analogy of one candle being lit by another candle is apt. Are the two flames the same flame or completely different flames? According to those laws, PART of the energy is transferred from one wick to the other wick, a portion of the energy is released by the flame, and part of the energy remains with the original candle. Regarding reincarnation, a rather appropriate analogy could be that of a whirlpool in a stream of liquid. A whirlpool is a definite form within a river but, just like the human form itself, it is never static. Some water molecules which were once swirling within one whirlpool may move farther downstream, mix with other water particles, and form a new, distinct whirlpool. So, in my particular case, it is eminently possible that a vast amount of “Indian energy” was transferred to my psyche from one or more persons from Bhārata (the proper name of the country), plus the addition of genetic matter from my Persian parents and their Aryan heritage. The fact that BOTH Iranians and North Indians are Aryan seems to add further credence to my hypothesis, even if to a small degree. Of course, there is no conclusive proof for such types of claims at this stage in human history, but the evidence is certainly extant, and as mentioned, the profusion of evidence available goes far beyond the purview of this document. One ought to do one's own thorough research into the matter, rather than relying on anecdotal testimonies. There are several well-documented books and videos published on the subject. There is not the slightest doubt in my mind that my essential nature has NOT transferred from one body to another body, because I have fully understood and realized, by practicing the four systems of yoga/religion described in Chapter 16, that my true nature is Brahman (see Chapters 06 & 10 to learn of the Real Self). There is no such thing as a “soul” or “spirit”, unless, of course, one defines those words to mean the subject (that is, the observer of all temporal phenomena), and logically, the subject cannot be an object, at least in the transactional sphere. When I die, my physical body, composed of the five gross material elements (“sthūla-śarīra”, in Sanskrit), will be reabsorbed into the biosphere, whilst the non-tangible aspect of my body, composed of the three subtle material elements (“sūkṣma śarīra”, in Sanskrit), will possibly merge with the collective unconscious, and the story of my life will come to an end FOREVER. See Chapter 05 regarding the eight elemental groups. It seems likely, judging by the evidence, that the “vāsanā” of a deceased person may transfer to more than a single individual. That explains why there are so many persons at once claiming to be the reincarnation of certain famous personalities. This fact is difficult for many to accept, since they are thoroughly attached to their pseudo-egos, their intellects, their minds, their bodies, and their possessions. However, when one realizes that one is, fundamentally, not an ever-mutating psycho-physical organism, but, essentially, never-changing, all-pervasive CONSCIOUSNESS, all fears are alleviated. The only “thing” remaining of a person at the time of death is the only “thing” which has ever “existed” - Pure Unalloyed Awareness, or Eternal-Conscious-Peace (“sacchidānanda”, in Sanskrit). We do not normally dread the dreamless portions of our nightly sleep cycles, so why would we fear a more permanent period of existence similar to deep-sleep? This existential crises is the basis of most all angst and uneasiness. So, fear not - death is a normal, NATURAL, and even a necessary consequence of conception. That which has a beginning, surely must end. Putting aside whether or not reincarnation is an accurate account of what happens in this world, it is ABSOLUTELY certain that we receive a completely new body approximately every seven years (via a gradual process, of course). Our first body was a microscopically-sized zygote and our present body is several kilograms heavier. From where has all that extra weight come? Obviously, it came from all the nutrients that we have absorbed via the umbilical cord in our mother's uterus, or via the food, air and water we have consumed since birth. Cont...

Therefore, one who believes that he is nothing more than the body-mind organism is grossly ignorant of basic biological science. Genetically, approximately half of the cells in the body are not even of human origin, believe it or not! We can all easily understand that our infantile body is completely and utterly different to our present-day form, so logically, our true identity must be something quite APART from it. Nothing, including one’s genetic code, remains constant from conception to death. The sense of self does not even make its appearance in our psyche until two or three years after conception. Therefore, a person is more accurately defined as a process (a verb), rather than an object (a noun). For the sake of philosophical IMPARTIALITY, it is germane to acknowledge the perspectives of other eminent pundits. E.g. In “Bhagavad-gītā”, one of the very greatest spiritual authorities the world has ever known, Lord Śri Krishna, uses the analogy of how the individual person (“ego”, in Latin, or “jīvātman”, in Sanskrit) travels through the various stages of life (that is, from childhood, to pubescent adulthood, to geriatric), with His description of the process of reincarnation, as conceived by the ancient seers (“ṛṣi” [rishi], in Sanskrit) of India (“Bhārata”, in Sanskrit). “...each person is destined to die once...” Anonymous (possibly Paul of Tarsus), Letter to the Hebrews, 9:27. N.B. Ironically, the author of the above letter was a close disciple (or at least a follower) of Lord Jesus of Nazareth, who, according to the New Testament portion of the Judeo-Christian holy book, raised his acquaintance, Lazarus, from the dead. Logically speaking, Lazarus must surely have died more than one time, as did the many dead persons who were supposedly raised from their graves at the crucifixion of Lord Jesus. Assuming that Paul was the author of the Letter to the Hebrews, he himself even raised a young man from the dead (although, in that case, the man, Eutychus, was dead for only a very short period of time, so it was likely that he was merely unconscious, rather than fully deceased). OBVIOUSLY, the writer means that, generally speaking, each individual person is destined for one life alone, as opposed to any alternative scenario such as reincarnation. Yet, as we now know, humans beings are not stable objects, but ever-mutating processes of mind and matter. “The entity that is supposed to be reincarnated in another body, does not even itself exist, except as a concept! How can a mere concept be reborn?” ************* “When you are dead, you will be back in the primordial state of rest, which existed before you were born; that stillness before all experience. It is only the false sense of a limited, separate 'me', that deprives life of its meaning and gives death an ominous significance, which it really does not have.” ************* “The fear of death, is actually a product of the desire to perpetuate one's identity. Were you not dead before you were born? Those who know Reality, know the falsehood of life and death.” ************* “What is born, must in due course, die. The objective body, will thereafter be dissolved and irrevocably annihilated. What was once a sentient being, will be destroyed, never to be reborn. But consciousness is not objective - not a thing at all. Therefore, consciousness is neither born nor dies, and certainly cannot be 'reborn'.” Ramesh Balsekar, Indian Spiritual Teacher. “Who are those persons who pass away leaving the ‘I’ intact? What exactly passes away leaving the ‘I’ intact? It is a body and its corollary, the world, that pass away. That is, particular sensations and perceptions disappear. That is all we can be sure of. However, sensations and perceptions are disappearing all the time. The ‘I’ is not a body. The ‘I’ is a thought that identifies awareness with a body. The ‘I’ passes away every time that thought ceases. All we know of death is that certain sensations and perceptions cease. There is no evidence that thinking and imagining cease at death. In fact, there are numerous reports of the mind surviving the death of the body (to go back to conventional language), but no reports of the mind disappearing along with the body. And this is exactly what happens when we fall asleep. The thinking, sensing and perceiving that we call the ‘waking state’ dissolve, but their energies leave a subtle residue which in turn arises as new thoughts, images, sensations and perceptions, which we call the ‘dream state’. In other words, a new body, mind and world appear in awareness in the dream state. When we wake in the morning, we don’t think ‘Oh, I reincarnated last night’, but in fact we did! That is, awareness took the shape of thinking, imagining, sensing and perceiving, and one of the forms that thinking took was the form of a particular thought that identifies itself, awareness, with one particular sensation called the body. That is reincarnation, to believe oneself to be a body and to seem, as a result, to live in a body. Reincarnation simply means to identify with a body. We do it numerous times every day, not just once a lifetime. And every time we disidentify with a particular body-mind we die as that apparent entity and realise ourself as awareness. This process continues in the waking state as well as the dream state, only this time we take it for real rather than as a dream. But during the dream itself, the appearance of a body and a world seemed equally real as the waking-state body and world. We have no way of knowing from within the waking state whether or not it is a dream, just as we have no way of knowing from within the dream itself whether or not the dream is real. However, we are not in the waking state any more than we are in a dream. We are awareness, and the waking state appears in us, as does the dream state. There is no difference, from the point of view of reality, if such can be said to have a point of view, between the waking and dream states. They are both appearances in awareness and made only out of awareness. In other words, neither incarnation nor reincarnation ever really happens. They just seem to happen. Therefore they never really cease to happen. They just seem to cease. The experience of love, peace or happiness is the experience of the cessation of the dream of incarnation.” Rupert Spira, English Spiritual Teacher.

I have not researched them unfortunately but without trying I have learned of a historical truth in one I could never have known prior... I really appreciate how this man hopes for this work to open a connection with the soul and an always being- for many I think they can attune to these things as adults when they connect to source and if more are there humanity as a whole can be better as they understand their deeper connection when they’re beyond ego

I've been having this hunch for years, @Apollyon 1975, thanks for saying it verbatim! (the tunnel=birthing canal, the welcoming light=the feeling of being unconditionally loved when in the womb, "download" of knowingness=sum total of genetic information stored in our species' DNA. These are broad strokes of ideas, but I'd gather you could reinterpret NDEs in that way, too - or somewhere along those lines. As for meeting deceased relatives or other significant figures from the personal domain or set of beliefs, I'd take it they get "tossed in" for an increased sense of being reassured. That's kind of "NDE hereticism", I'm aware. But why not allowing them in for contemplation?)

Mmmm except for the past life memories so so SO many have had about spending time in (what we call) "the afterlife", and choosing to be reincarnated, "signing" an incarnation contract and accepting a veil of forgetfulness when entering the womb of their mother. If the "light at the end of the tunnel" of death was you moving straight out of your next lifetime's mother's womb, none of these memories of being in the afterlife would exist.

I died in 1658 as a Native American in my last lifetime on the earth plane; there's no way in the world that there's a way to "prove" that, but I have proof within myself because of many snippets of incidents I have experienced from that lifetime along with leaning towards specific interests and talents that can be considered "carryovers" from that Native American lifetime. That also brings me to another point that this gentleman mentioned of looking like another person almost identically- well that is possible but it's definitely not necessary-for instance I've had lifetimes when I was an Ethiopian slave girl, also lived in India, many of my lifetimes were in Egypt, and I've had lifetimes in Greece, Crete, Persia, with the majority of my lifetimes in the Orient. Obviously my face would not look the same when I'm a different race in each lifetime. Interestingly, this is the first time I got stuck in an American body yet interestingly and oddly when I was born I had pitch black hair and slanted eyes, which in a few months my hair turned carrot red and then platinum blonde- that to me was another "carryover" and my parents probably thought they had a freak of nature. As soon as I could hold a crayon which I'm sure was before the age of two and before the age of television, I began doodling swastikas which really freaked my parents out, but no I did not have a lifetime in Nazi Germany- that symbol was used in ancient India, with some Native American tribes, and also in the Orient, all of which I have been involved with; I also opened my books from the back and looked at them from back to front, and tried to read and write from right to left, there were many more examples but that will give you an idea of what I mean by "carryover". Another comment I wish to make is about the mark around the neck of the person who had been hung- that is something that I have seen demonstrated in a type of therapeutic technique called myofascial release and myofascial unwinding where for example, the actual smell of anesthesia can exit the body as the body is positioned in a way that recalls that traumatic episode= it's called "cellular memory" and I believe that's what was occurring with the person he was speaking about in this lecture. I will be so glad when the world can get over the proof of reincarnation and just get on with the importance of "remembering" certain lifetimes for I was told that we usually have a minimum of two or maybe three or four, that is affecting the particular lifetime that we are in. It is not beneficial for us to know every lifetime, only if it has an effect on our current lifetime, perhaps our career, our interests, lessons we are to learn, people that we are involved with from a prior lifetime- there has to be a point to it or it's just curiosity.

She thought it was creepy. I should find out if she remembers this now.

If you accept this kind of research as proof of an earlier life, which I am sympathetic to, it has indeed all kinds of complications. Because what you prove in my view is only a connection to a memory source (obviously not located in the brain), to which a person with an earlier life was also connected to. Are these two persons the same person? Is it the memory only that defines a person? The concept of what a person is has to be redefined. There are also cases where a child remembers a life of a person who is still alive.

We have to be careful not to separate the negative from the positive. Pureness of heart has no place on earth. We have that already in heaven. We are here to experience both the good and the bad. Each life teaches us something new, bringing growth to the soul and the collective.. Pushing for love and light and forgetting the other side of us will never bring us answers. We have to examine what the negative truly is. We are told what it is but but in all truth, only we as individuals know. It's a matter of having the courage to look. Ying and Yang flow into each other, just as we must allow our own personal light and dark to do the same.

Jesus himself admits to reincarnation......11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. 13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

I find cases like this interesting, and I have some similar uncanny experiences highly suggestive of reincarnation. I was fascinated by Stevenson's work and agree that it's also highly suggestive of reincarnation. However, I disagree with Sakellarios that reincarnation is thereby "proven" and must now be presupposed. Stevenson did not say that, either. More importantly, it does not at all prove an immortal immaterial soul. That's a possibility, but I can see more plausible ways (more consistent with other findings) that these experiences happen. I lean more toward something like Sheldrake's morphic resonance fields. The way I look at it, consciousness, while it does have a material basis that has definitely been demonstrated (like cutting the corpus callosum, thereby creating 2 separate selves that both think they are the original self), is not limited to the brain. Our individual sense of self is based on the experience of our whole bodies, not just our brains. Even to the extent that consciousness resides in bodies and brains, it is clearly embedded in and necessarily interacts with community and cultures. These relationships define and affect that consciousness and our very sense of self. So you can never have just a "brain in a jar." Even a brain in a jar would have to receive nutrients from outside the jar. Whatever a brain in a jar or a completely disembodied entity could be, it would never be the same self that is affected and changed by art and taking a walk in nature or a having late night conversation with a loved one (physical experiences embedded within a material world and other embodied selves). We know networks of neurons form a basis for consciousness and self-awareness, but we don't know what other kinds of interconnections might form bases for similar or other kinds of awareness at different levels of reality. I think about the web of dark matter through the universe. Could that form a basis for some kind of consciousness? I don't know. I think about how an impulse spreads through a herd of horses or a flock of birds, as if they were one entity. Could that be more than a metaphor? I don't know. But how would we know? Our own cells don't know that this body they're a part of has a self-awareness. If there are other levels of consciousness, I hope a way of unambiguously communicating with them can develop. (And I don't mean through our own interpretations of the holy books of humans.) I bring all that up, because to me it's clear that these past life memories (and ghosts and the like) are at least mediated by our psyches, relationships and culture. So they can be real without there having to be an immaterial or immortal soul. (And both those properties would have to be demonstrated.) They could arise from the interconnectedness of nature, culture, and our web of relationships. This does lead to a different kind of science that one could argue is less materialistic. Certainly less rigidly individualistic. But it does not _prove_ that we are immortal or even have souls capable of surviving outside the web of life and human culture on earth. It's _possible_ , but far from proven.

I think this man can best be summed up in this way; professionally glib. I came to be aware of him after reading his paper that declares that Edgar Allan Poe is not the author of 'The Raven', even though hundreds of literary scholars disagree with this claim. So, I went through the tortuous process of reading his paper, 'Following the Bread Crumb Trail: Or, How I Identified Mathew Franklin Whittier’s Multitudinous Pseudonyms' By Stephen Sakellarios, in which he spends an uncomfortable amount of it claiming what he 'knows' and yet fails to follow through and prove; and indeed through these constant claims he ("cannot place all the evidence here" [but]) does not present one coherent shred of evidence to back up the principal claim - anywhere in the paper! Now, I do not think that it is unfair to look for the same tendencies of evasiveness in this address presented above and yes - again we seen it; references to the need to 'understand higher teachings' without presenting what they are, or how they can be obtained. So, with such a diverse range of topic to examine Mr. Sakellarios' claims of certainty we are well armed to be able to conclude that they are as apparent and visible as documented sighting of unicorns. P.S. If you don't have time to listen to this long, stumbling mix-mash of suggestions without any evidence, you can skip to the point at 33:28 in which Mr. Sakellarios says the thing that all manner of mountebanks, cult-leaders and snake-oil salesmen that said before him; that in terms of his particular sacred pet cow, scepticism "is not possible". Yes, he really says this! He claims that is "not logically possible to be sceptical of reincarnation." Boy! Exactly how gullible does he believe his audience is that they would not see past this plea to not be believed?

I really want to get on board and open my heart to new things. However when you admit to not being a scholar of the Word of God in one breath and in the next accuse Paul the Apostle of being a fraud, its challenging for me to be open to any of your beliefs. Paul was trained by Gamaliel whom was a scholar above scholars. Paul spent the 1st part of his life persecuting Christians and was in fact on his way to do that very thing when The Lord struck him blind for not understanding that The Christ had been born and Sacrificed. Once (Saul) Paul came to the understanding, he tried to be a better man. Isn't this what we all want to strive for? Paul never forgave himself for the atrocities he perpetrated during the 1st half of his life. God choose Paul because he was a true scholar. Please remember when you speak of things that are blatantly incorrect, it becomes a challenge to believe your philosophy. I'm someone who wanted to listen and learn.

As Mathew Franklin Whittier, I defended Paul. My study of the sociopathic personality in this lifetime convinced me that Paul's account of his conversion experience on the road to Damascus was a classic sociopathic-type lie. It is too grandiose, and too physical. Logically, if Paul didn't really have that experience, then he could not have been a saintly character, and there was no break with his former Pharisee beliefs. That accounts for him teaching contrary to reincarnation. My academic training is in counseling and psychology, so I came at the question from that perspective. It is actually a benefit not to be a Biblical scholar. The Bible is not the Word of God, though parts of it may be inspired by the Word of God. But if that were true, and people have had countless experiences as prior human beings, why do we find the average majority of humans making the same mistakes, over and over and over again....as if they have never experienced these things before? Why do children not remember the maturity of earlier experience? Why is it that the majority of humans fear the cessation of life, and have little to no power to envisage it? All these phenomena are perfectly explained by the fact that people have one, singular life and then die. However, they are direct contradictions to the idea of re-incarnation. Ockham's Razor easily applies here. Which do you think has the less assumptions and therefore is the better explanation?

In Christian mysticism, Neville Goddard spoke of the subconscious as the wife & the conscious mind as the husband...that scripture: “wives be subject to your husbands...” means that the conscious mind (husband) impresses it’s will onto or in the subconscious mind (wife) until it (she) is pregnant with the seed of the conscious desire of the human being! Meaning, if left alone to grow...that desire will appear on “the screen of space,” or, in other words, will manifest in one’s reality! Dr Joseph Murphy had the same mystic got a teacher & these 2 New Thought (really ancient wisdom) teachers were contemporaries & oddly taught in the same exact places in California & NY! It’s really quite interesting! Though they did not believe in reincarnation, they did believe after one died, he became young again in an alternate reality to continue to the perfectionist the soul! These men also were taught that imagination with feeling & all imaginable senses used is what creates our reality, fir the most part! If we are not creating the world we desire by using our imagination & all our imaginary senses & emotions to feeling our desire real, then others, such as marketers will! As they have been using subliminals on us for decades! If we are not using our own minds...others will!

Most people don't, and would have to go to a past lives hypnosis session to pull it out. What's funny is my 8yr old son, out of nowhere about a week ago, told me that before he "learned what he learned" (Christianity), that he used to believe that he would die and be someone else in 1000 yrs, and that his soul was somewhere before he came into who he is now. I humored him and asked where he was, he said he used to remember but he's forgot it now (consistent with how they say kids forget around 5-7). He has no clue I've been looking into reincarnation on my own and I almost took it as a sign for myself.

He just reads whatever he wants on his own time and makes his own conclusions. He hasn’t even studied the stuff seriously at the university level. Although I personally believe reincarnation is very possible, looking upon eastern and western religions as validation of reincarnation is dubious at best. All religions were founded by ancient man at a time when superstition and ignorance were prevalent rather than scientific inquiry.

Fair point, @Dean Wilson. You might find the interview with Prof. Dr. Tucker speaking to your reservations interesting as far as validation by way of eastern traditions goes. He addresses this and he has a fair share of strong cases in the U.S. providing more evidence in support of the veracity of the phenomenon. It's on this playlist along with Mrs. Carol Bowman's interview.

To die once to the ego self...the Bible is a mystical book! The symbols are Eastern & it has remnants of The Egyptian Book of the Dead in it’s mysticism! This man is not a scholar of the resurrection. The ways that the new testament fits normal eyewitness accounts and the details about the shroud of Turin refute him on that point. Actually, resurrection fits reincarnation as well, as a rematerialization, since Jesus walks through walls. But reincarnation can be a psychic (psycho-physical) overlay, instead, too. So the resurrection of Jesus neither proves nor disproves reincarnation and vice versa.

In his defense, Clare: Mr. Sakellarios says from the beginning that he's not a deep student of Christianity, so if some details don't match with Christian scholars' consensus, go easy, if so inclined. If anyone is at fault, it's me for asking the question and taking him out of his field. But I didn't go there to put him on the spot, instead I meant to cover some general bases and establish some background in terms of traditional ideas and beliefs about reincarnation, which have been found in all major religions, including early Christianity from what I heared and read in preparing for this. This entire interview is not about attacking Christianity or any other spiritual tradition. Please see preceding interviews, in particular with Prof. Dr. Tucker, who carries on Dr. Stevenson's work and who has collected a fairly large body of evidence suggestive of reincarnation being a real phenomenon. From science to 3rd person accounts to personal experience - I think we have made a point in collecting data from all known sources when it comes to reincarnation. Let's try and remain open to the concept, shall we?

I freely admitted that the history of Christianity was not my area of expertise. I was relying on the work of reincarnation writers Cranston and Head as regards Origen. Looking into it myself, afterwards, I disagree with them. Origen, in my opinion, was confused, but he does not seem to have been an advocate for reincarnation. However, while I do not claim expertise in the history of Christianity, I do have a background in mysticism. As for "nothing can historically support," you have Paul accusing Peter of being a hypocrite--but then, Jesus calls Peter a "rock," which is to say, a man of integrity. So either Paul was projecting, or else Jesus was a very poor judge of character. You choose.
