Hi Kyle! I think that it's amazing that relic hunting is acknowledged nowadays. I've done it all my life (I'm 64) as I was raised on a West GA farm that was over 100 yrs old. Back then, they used trash to fill in ditches. Farm equipment, old jars, broken jewelry, clothing, broken appliances, toys etc. As a kid who was 7 yrs younger than my sister and 9 yrs between my brother and I, I roamed our 55 acres in search of arrowheads and relics of the past. My parents couldn't understand my desire to dig into the dirt and find all that "junk". Thank you for letting me know that there are others like me!! I love all your videos!✌️❤️

That broach totally looks masonic, the all seeing eye started in Egypt and was adopted by the freemasons. It could be a book cover decoration or a men's belt buckle but it totally looks like freemasons. That is an awesome find! And all those wonderful buttons; they are so neat! My Grandmotherinlaw gave me a Christmas cookie can full of buttons and 4 of her daughters that's still alive, I made them chimes by stringing glass, she'll, wooden, plastic and metal buttons and made the daughters a chime. Turned out very beautiful. U guys have a great find. Stay safe and God bless

Black buttons are called jet mourning buttons. Early plastic is celluloid and rubber is vulcanise. The eye plate could be from fancy horse tack, given its age.

I can't believe how many buttons you found. Especially the white ones. That's crazy, I've watched a lot of treasure hunters, and they have never found that many. Maybe they came from a dress maker. I have never seen so many buttons in one place.

That piece with the 5 black glass stones in it (and the space for another stone) looks possibly like a mourning brooch. They were worn when someone you loved passed away and you were mourning their death. I’d say Victorian era. Lots of great buttons Kyle!

I would love to see all these relics after they are cleaned up. I also watch a channel called "Northern Mudlarks" and I'm always surprised to see how beautiful everything is after a good cleaning. I also thought I saw a few beads in the dirt. These old beads may be from the 18th century and are called trade beads or some are czech beads. Maybe you could do a little research on some of those items and let us know what you find out. Sooo interesting. Great video!

That silver looking eye might have been a badge from a feternal organization and it might have hung on a ribbon. Just a guess, but the black glass are morning buttons. The are call French jet. A lot less expensive item than a jet button. The thing you all found are awesome. Thanks for sharing it with us. CL😊

That many buttons, I wonder if there was a paper mill close to the water. They used to make paper out of old clothes back in the day. Btw, that water thingy is called a tea pot spout. Lol Hotta love it when the word won't come out even when you know what it is you're holding.

Masonic logo..the eye inside beams. Most probably a belt buckle or badge. Black glass, also called jet glass, was used to make mourning jewelry.

That beaded piece looks like it could have been part of a lady’s barrette for her hair. If not that, maybe it was part of a brooch.

the best find is probably that white button. looks like 1988 or 1989. it came from a button-up shirt that was owned by Robert. he was walking in the woods and a bulldog clawed his shirt and ripped a button off. that happened on a Wednesday. good find!

All those "shell" buttons were from a USA freshwater river mollusk, that was hunted to extinction. They would use crude diving bells, even a mop pail over the head, with air pumped in to harvest them! Those buttons were still being made, 1940's -50's!

I would think that with as many buttons an suspender clips you guys are finding i believe you guys might be where an old paper mill may have been located. They would have people bring in old jackets,shirts an what ever clothing they would want to get rid of an they would shred then into threads to mix in with the paper they would produce. The black glass buttons are Mourning Buttons, used on Black Mourning Clothing and jewerly. The Eye with Sun burst looks to be An All Seeing Eye from Mosonic Icons.

Found out from the mud Larking ladies that they're used to be an ad to make a pin cushion doll break the legs off of a China figurine and turn it into a pin cushion doll so that's why you find a lot of those broken legs😊

The 1851 button was a suspender button i believe. The cobalt blue button is my favorite by far. Surprised there were no marbles there though

Maybe the buttons belonged to a dressmaker or someone who kept them in a jar or sewing kit that was tossed in the garbage. The buttons escaped and now yall have found them in the ground. Theres too many buttons and clips in one area so they came from somewhere related to sewing etc.
