There’s a treasure trove of antique collection inside that house of Doña Remedios Jalandoni Lopez Vito. Thank you for feauturing Jaro cathedral and jaro plaza. It brought back many memories. My great grandfather was the first cousin of Graciano who financed for his trip and education in Spain.

Na miss nyo po ang Calle Real sa Iloilo, noong Queen City of the south pa ito di po mag layo ang itsura ng maynila at iloilo .... Doon sa calle real may mga lumang gusali na kauna unahan sa pinas like first department store nandoon... Parang bumalik ka sa nakaraan pero buhay n buhay prn ang old district

Have you also visited the Lizares mansion and the Nelly's Garden of the Lopez's? They are two of the best heritage homes in Iloilo. Try to visit Miag-ao Church if you have the time. Nice videos. Very informative. Thanks again.

That place in front of the Grand Dame Hotel is not called "iloilo divisoria" (9:42 to 9:50) vut is the Paz District Public Market. It is the birthplace of the nationally famous LA PAZ BATCHOY. The Grand Dame Hotel bldg itself has an award-winning hotel architecture. When you are facing its facade, at the right side is a plaque of recognition given by a European architectural organization for its outstanding Iloilo-European architectural design. Iloilo is actually like a European city in its architecture, churches, bldgs and plazas that has been transported to the Philippines. Iloilo gives you a bitbof Europe in its well preserved heritage structures.

Buti nakarating ka dyan bro Fern ❤️, matagal ko ng du nakikita ang Jaro, Iloilo. Early 90s pko napunta dyan at nakarating aako sa Jaro cathedral at sa tapat nito na Jaro belfry. Hindi p cya under construction noon pero bawal pumasok sa loob. Nagtataka ako bakit nagkahiwalay sya sa mismong Church, wala naman nakasagot sa tanong ko noon. Masarap lomi dyan ☺️ sana makarating ka rin sa isang very old church sa Capiz, yyung mismo pinto ng church at upuan panahon p ng Kastila pwedeng akyatin din belfry nun. 🙏 Salamat sa pagbahagi ng video prang nabisita ko na ulit. 😍

Belfry kase ginagamit yan pang tunog ng 🔔 bell kung may kalaban. military watchtower, dyan umaakyat para makita kung may mga kalabang parating, especially the moros during Spanish colonial. wala pang tulay sa dungon creek dati kaya hindi agad2 mapasok ang jaro ng mga kalaban.

Just to let you know that The Molo Church is also known as the "Womens Church". It features all women saints in every aisle pillars inside the church, 16 women saints in all. no men except the crucified Jesus.

Just a few blocks from Molo Plaza are the San Antonio and Compania Streets, the traditional streets where the Calungsod clan has lived for several generations up to the present day. "Compania Street" is the shortened name for "La Compania de Jesus" (Society of Jesus; the Jesuits). The Calungsod clan has a generations-old traditional oral history retold from generation to generation of a young Calungsod son who went to a far place during the Spanish period and never returned. That young son, according to the retold story in the Calungsod clan, was the young Pedro Calungsod, who is now a Saint of the Roman Catholic Church. Soon, Molo will have its second Saint when the present Venerable Mother Rosario Pidal Arroyo de la Visitacion, OP, Foundress of the Molo Convent of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, popularly called "Beaterio de Molo", will be declared Beatified. Mother Rosario is a grandmother of the former First Gentleman, Mike Arroyo, husband of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. She was also the brother of Jose Pidal Arroyo. The newly-built Museum honoring Mother Rosario is located at the Molo Beaterio, just a block away from the Molo Church, and us also the convent where the tomb containing the remains of Mother Rosario is found at the entrance inside the convent Chapel, which can be visited for devotees of the Blessed Virgin Mary to pray for Mother Rosario's intercession to their petitions.

Yes, At puede rin itong gawin na another feature story about Jaro Catedral. That sometimes in 1968, may isang sanggol na natagpuan sa holy water font ng catedral. Sya ay bininyagan at pinangalanan na Grace in the belief that her finding was through the "grace of God;" Si Jaime Sin ang nagbinyag sa kanya na noon ay syang Archbishop ng Jaro. Ngayon, ang sanggol na ito ay isa ng senadora ng bansa.
