This is similar to a level in the main game, and the solution there involves bringing a flag near the level on the map so level near flag counts as true. I'm guessing the surroundings of a level aren't refreshed until loading a new level in a level pack, which allows the surroundings from a level pack to be carried over into a level code.

the level itself is from the normal game, but since it is a levelpack, you wouldn't normally expect it to be winnable. with that said, this level proves it is possible if you manipulate how the game stores data. see the comment from "@not without text" in his reply to "@Andrew Perazzo". basically, he played a level pack and made it so that the game thought that everything around that level was a flag, but that level pack had nothing to change into flag, but the game likely preserved that data somehow going into the next levelpack, then he went back into the levelpack and did the same thing, the game thought it was surrounded by flags, thus "level near flag is win". either that, or it preserved the fact that the levelpack he last was in had a flag besides it that was referred to from within the level, and the game treats all levelpacks as though they were the same. thus, if you play a levelpack with a flag next to it, and you get the game to register that it is beside a flag by forming a "level near x" statement, then any level you go into afterwards will be treated as the same level as the last level you were in. essentially, it's like how your progress is saved for the main game in that levelpacks are treated as one continuous game rather than many separate games, and any data stored for one will be treated as being true for the other. this likely isn't possible between levelpacks and the main game, so if you tried to beat "The Box" from the main game by going into a levelpack that was surrounded by flags, it likely wouldn't work, but that's just my guess, and it's entirely possible, given how "continue" works, that you might be able to do that. actually, now that i think of it, it probably wont work because there is data saved for those games. if the remix of The Box had levels above it, it might require you to change those levels. you know how data on a computer isn't deleted, merely written over? levels with nothing above it are blank slates. to test this, you'd have to try to 1) solve the real "The Box" level with the solution levelpack, and 2) solve the remix of The Box with the actual "The Box" level. that would answer a few questions about how the game interprets all of this.
