www.AdamTheWoo.com - PLEASE RATE & SUBSCRIBE - I hunted down the filming locations for the 1991 classic movie. Some of the spots were easy to find and some were near impossible. It was a challenge but a lot of fun. Enjoy !

@@mikejunior211 with the hurricanes this area has endured after the filming of this movie, my guess is that is what killed it. A lot of trees in 04 were destroyed by hurricane charley that came through that area.

Thank you Adam, for the memories, and, for the trip to locations, for the movie My Girl. It's one of my favorite movies. Your shots of the weeping willow tree, made me so sad, and made me think of Vada's poem she wrote, after Thomas J. had died. The movie made me long for the simpler, innocent days of youth. Like in the movie though, things can happen, like death, that you can't be prepared for, especially as a child, and some have to learn, that things are no longer simple, and innocent, and, they never can, or will be again. . . 😞💔

They didn't actually film inside the house, they built an almost exact replica in the studio (which explains the non-existent cellar, as it's clear in the film that there are stairs down). They didn't want to film in the house as the guy that owned it at the time was an artist who ran an antiques business, and they were scared of damaging something.

"That tree said it all That was the past this is the now One day we will all be gone But the power of film will live on" We look at that tree with memories of the film in the same way Veda did in memory of Thomas J.. Thats the beauty!!

My city :-) I lived on a few of those streets that you showed. Where the house was and where the funeral home was. I was just at that library downtown. Where the houses are, we call that Georgetown. That is more of the historic side. The girl in this video with you imitated Vida to the T, lol, even the way she ran. Except for both hands on the stair railing, but everything else was spot on. Awesome job :-) I enjoyed this. I was born and raised here :-)

That was truly amazing. The end of the scene really got me. We have all climbed that one tree, we have all etched our names into it. Hoping that our names and our experience would be inmoratalized. To see the tree gone and to see the deterioration of that once big gorgeous tree, choked me up. Maybe it’s because it represents us, and how strong and fragile our existence is.

The willow tree was fake, they made it themselves out of steel (when they made the film), the dock obviously wasn't looked after so the wood started disintegrating/rotting

your movie location videos are the best. Have you done any John Hughes? A lot of them are in the northern suburbs of Chicago. I just discovered your videos and I appreciate the information.
