However, I do not place it on a pedestal or anything and I give newer translation a chance (mostly the ESV and sometimes the NASB). KJV-onlyism is a stumbling block for anyone who tries to engage in serious apologetics with people like Jehovah's Witnesses, which I happen to do regularly. In cases like this, the NKJV is much better because it supplies you with footnotes showing where the TR differs from the Nestles text and the majority text. KJV-onlyism also places a massive restriction on you in terms of learning materials. I've seen KJV-onlyists refuse to try out excellent study materials like the ESV study bible solely based on the translation. You're seriously missing out on great resources by placing this unnecessary burden upon yourself.
