The Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg include two world-class museums under one roof - the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum and the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum.
Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum houses a world-class folk art collection that includes oil paintings, watercolors, pastel drawings, needlework and quilts, calligraphic drawings, and sculptures in wood and metal.
The DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum presents treasures of American and British decorative arts, including one of the largest collections of British ceramics outside of England.
Interior designer Edward Bulmer breathes new life into centuries-old houses with a sympathy that is rooted in a deep understanding of the past, transforming them into comfortable homes designed for modern living.
Edward Bulmer is part of a new generation of designers working on historical houses with an eye on designs that appeal to contemporary families and active lifestyles while at the same time respecting the classical traditions that have made the British country house style so popular today. With a modern eye, Bulmer combines his love for the well-worn and timeless with natural textures as well as rich new color palettes and finishes, as embodied by his line of all-natural, toxic-free paints that embrace both traditional and eclectic tastes.
In his first book, Bulmer takes readers on in-depth tours of his work in some of Britain’s grandest homes, including Althorp, Goodwood, Pitshill House, and Broughton Hall, along with his work for private clients, highlighting his own stunning home, a Queen Anne manor house built in 1700. Bulmer and his family have spent the last twenty years turning this country farmhouse into a comfortable, practical home-with a working organic farm-that perfectly accommodates the demands of contemporary living. It has become a laboratory for his design practice and is also the base for his paint company, which he operates out of an old granary converted into a studio.

I do wish that the general population would return to the world of color with respect to interior design. There's nothing more dreadful than a house done entirely in pale, mousy neutrals. Books like this one really should be required reading for anyone who buys a home. Bravo.

.....The world of Colour .... depth. ,beauty , a richness that cannot be found in all the " whites and Nuetrak decor " that is so prevalent today. I love colour, this book is going to a " must purchase " ,thank you for sharing it. I marveled at the Doll House , I collect certain types of " miniatures ", ( my " whimsical side ", lol) and I have a little display in my kitchen that I put together out of elements that were just found and purchased and the little stove that was in that Doll House looks very very much like the one I have. ... It is a salesman's sample that I scored at an " off the beaten path Antique Shoppe ", some years ago. The display also includes a cast iron chair - It looks like a quilted type of chair- and it has an ottoman , a cast iron table of some kind and I have a lot of other things ....A ceramic fireplace that I found ,and Even the sweetest little miniature dog , that I placed ...sitting by the fireplace... it's just a display, something I enjoy looking at.

I was in love with that doll house. I think I viewed it for about 15 minutes before moving on to the next thing. It was truly a beauty. Can you imagine receiving that as a gift in 1900, or in 2023 for that matter?

As a child, I loved my Fisher-Price doll house, but this was on a level I never knew existed. I studied the details for at least 15 minutes before moving on.

The doll house was magnificent. Was it found with the period miniature furniture?

The only information provided about the contents was "most of the miniature furniture displayed in the rooms of the dollhouse are original to the piece". It was extraordinary!

Unfortunately the voice over ruins the whole video: boring, slow, distant, cold etc. etc. Why do a video that put you to sleep after 3 minutes? The title of the video should be: " The sound of destruction ". RIP
