A Revolutionary Evolution: The Slim G-SHOCK MTG-B3000 Series

As you know, we love our G-Shocks here at Fratello. Welcome to a whole new level of sophisticated structural design: the MTG B3000D-1AER stands out for a new design concept combining the resin used in the first G-SHOCK models with metal materials. This new series features the thinnest module ever used in G-Shock's Premium Line. The new MTG-B3000 follows that tradition of hybrid cases with a case in metal, resin, and carbon. The newly designed case measures a substantial 50.9mm wide, 51.9mm long, and 12.1mm thick. Overall the case is slightly smaller than the case of the B2000 series. But what stands out most is the substantially slimmer profile of the watches.

I just got the "Diffuse Nebula"(MTG-B3000DN-1AER) limited edition of this watch and omg, I can't stop admiring it. I have a couple way fancier/expensive watches but this casio might be my #1 favourite right now, it's just beautiful to look at and it feels so solid and well made, I love it. Honestly it's hard to think "how can a casio be worth this much" but really, go and try one on if you can, it's in a different league than any other casio.

Just got one today for my birthday. The closer you look the more you see.. It looks different in every room under every lighting condition.. It's a stunning looking watch really stands out. My wrists are small so I was hesitant to buy it but she got it behind my back without ever seeing it in the flesh and it's just perfect.

The limited edition mtg-b3000d-1a is one of those beautiful wild color ways. I went to my local AD to buy some other watch and saw this in the display and couldn’t resist and end up buying it. Beautiful watch. Buy it before it is no longer available.

Old school Automatic guy here. But bought a GAB2100-1A to hold me over while I waited for my GMB2100D-1A and MTGB3000D-1A. I love all three of these fine watches. The MTGB3000D is on a whole other level. Bravo Casio and G Shock! I agree with your review, both bonkers and "traditional"! Nice review. (Are watches an addiction???)

what functions usually you use for bluetooth connection? I can't accept to set timer or stopwatch via phone bluetooth

I have one [the black and green model] I love it. 12 mm thick is nice. I hope Casio slims down the Mr G to around 12mm. But the MT G 3000 is a great watch. It does everything I need it to do and while i'ts still a big watch it doesn't wear as big as it is. I'm watching Casio for their future designs.

I've just ordered the black with red accents for £630. Most would baulk at spending this kind of money on a quartz Casio but when you look into how these are manufactured and the tech involved the cost begins to make sense.

I have the GWG10000 and love it. It IS clunky but wearable for me. I wonder how many product managers Casio must have to manage all those lines and SKU's. Crazy. Thanks for sharing

This watch is a definite improvement on its predecessor but for now my old MTG-B1000 is still doing great. An upgrade to this watch may be considered in the future but not for now. Fortunately G-Shock watches either analogue / digital / Metal or resin just keep on working from my experience. There is of course always room for another.

How does this compare to the MRG line? Always been a one -man watch and the MTG-G1000 has been flawless for the last 6yrs. But been thinking i should give it some rest and get an "upgrade". But looking at the MRG line, i really can't see the difference compared to the latest MTG's.

MRG line has many more functions (which I won't use anyway). Titanium body if not mistaken. At 3-5X price
